I will say this, UT is #1 for longevity, but many of their fans know they are usually overrated at the beginning of the season.
Almost no Ark fans ever believe they are overrated.

LSU the way they at you would think they have always been good not just one good year under saban and hand them a participation trophy another year that they lost two games to unranked teams

Ah, the vaunted Deke Houlgate system, that's one to rely on for MNC's, especially when Deke was out on a limb by his lonesome. AP gave the title to undefeated Minnesota, while ranking Bama #20 for getting shut out by Vandy and MSU.
The reason we finished second to Kentucky in 1950 is that they played 6 SEC games while we played 5, 5-1 vs. 4-1. Otherwise, we were 11-1, and outscored the opponents, 335-70.

I will give for more sports as I believe it depends on the sport etc.
Football- Ole Miss- have not even won SEC since 1963, until you even make Atl how can you think your near elite?
Mens Hoops- LSU- so you have had four of the best players ever and never won a FF game? Dale Brown fluked into 2 final fours but wasted talent and cheated (yes he got caught). You may be the 4-5th best in SEC all time, but it is a looooong way down from UK and UF.
Baseball- Miss St- granted baseball is a second tier sport in most places and has only risen nationally in last 20 or so years, but you have always be fanatic (and good) fans, yet you have never won a NC. SC, LSU even UGA has won a NC.
