Today is the first time since September 2015 that Alabama isn’t in the top 10. Forgive the fans for overreacting.

Saban is not only the GOAT, he’s the only coach I know of in college football that has always been able to solve cracks whenever they have appeared in his program. Most Bama fans seem to have already accepted that Saban can’t fix it this time. Crazy how quickly nothing seems fixable now at Alabama.

Man, that's a lot, a lot, to unpack. All true.

It's the combination of NIL and Transfer Portal. Of that, I'm sure. Coaches never stayed long under Saban. Because they were free to leave. Turns out, players don't like the constant heat Saban brings either.

And that's really the thing, isn't it ? Saban isn't shy about it. Nothing is ever good enough. A constant culture of constant improvement. Folks, have any of you ever worked at a place like old school GE, or a Toyota, that preached the same shite ?

I did. Both spots. Showing up to work every day, listening to how what you did yesterday doesn't count and somebody can take your job tomorrow ? That sounds good to the man in charge. It's a shitty existence for everybody else.

Nick Saban is the casualty of Nick Saban. We all enjoyed watching the ride. The ride is over. Because NIL and the portal gave people other options.

C’mon dude! I’ll admit the kid was good but he ain’t that damn good.

He was 100% legitimately that good. Replace Bryce with average qb play in 2021 and 2022 and Bama loses 3-4 games each year. But with him, finished #2 and won SECC in 2021, and finished #5 last year. He wont the Heisman and was 1st overall for a reason.

Young was the most dynamic, accurate, and best processor of reads I've seen 'Bama roll out in my time watching all this unfold for 'Bama. He was exceptional. Historic good.

Put Young behind some of those earlier teams that got beat in the playoff, and watch what happens. He was outstanding. And he covered a lot of defects.

Of course, here's the paradox. Does 'Bama get Young with that older style of play ? I don't know. That's why 'Bama changed it.

I don't know. Look at 2019 LSU and Jow Burrow. LSU was good, but Burrow made them great.

I played poker at the casino with several Bama fans, they all expect Alabama to lose 3-4 games

I guess that settles it then.

When the head coach has one foot out the door on the retirement train to Fla its beyond fixable, its a mess and the one they like to call the goat-lol is to blame.

I think we're going to lose Saturday. I don't actually know anyone who thinks we're going to win tbh. I don't want to lose, but good lord, there's no evidence pointing to us winning that game

Congrats on your third week here Ethan. Strange timing for sure, but good luck. If Alabama is truly as bad as you keep saying they are, and you are actually an Alabama fan, things will be real shitty for you. Enjoy.

Most of us know we can't stay on top 4ever. Just thankful
For the run we had & hoping to remain Competitive. I honestly think Saban is fed up
With the changes that
Have reshaped college
Football in reference to The portal & NIL. While most agree players should be compensated, some schools are using it in a way it wasn't
Designed. I for one
Am Sick of all the damn
Commercials & less football.

College football was once all about wanting to be coached and developed now it’s about the money and being able to start. It’s now like the NFL, players get payed and can leave, Saban couldn’t make it in the NFL

Obviously you don't keep up w/ Saban's house grabs, but they recently bought a 17.5 mil Fla beach home. Lake Burton is the old digs dumb arse, try to keep up.

I think he will fix it. For those of you wanting Nick to leave you should be pulling for Alabama to do well. I don’t think he will leave with a performance like this.

The "Saban couldn't make it in the NFL" thing is way overblown. Saban didn't get fired and in fact the Dolphins owner wanted to keep him. Saban didn't want to make it in the NFL because he couldn't build a team the way he wanted to like he could in college. But you're right that the college game has now changed, drastically. I don't think it is NIL as much as it is the transfer portal that has torpedoed the Saban Process. Prior to letting players leave whenever they wanted to go wherever they wanted, if you committed to Alabama, you were committed. You either got on board with the way Saban wanted things done or you rode the bench or got processed out. Nowadays, though, if you think life at Alabama is too hard, no biggie. You just go somewhere else. There's no reason to buy in if you don't want to. You can tell that team discipline has declined drastically the past couple of years as a result.

It's 1 year.

We can deal with 1 year of shyte. Maybe it's 2 because we'll still need to get a better OC unless things change, and Rees improves. We will still need to develop a QB.

We don't think Saban is leaving this year or next year... maybe 5+.

You can be mad that we are good fans that have realistic expectations about this year, but that's all it is.

As a lifelong Bama fan I realize we deserve it. We are entitled, oafish, rednecky and often have sex with our siblings when our aunts and uncles are busy. If we have to lose 6 games, so be it. Personally, I think Ole Miss beats us by 3 touchdowns and I welcome our forthcoming two decades in the cfb wasteland.

It’s like that nearly everywhere, they leave because they are not used to being disciplined and don’t have to.

Not a bama fan but I don't have a strong opinion about who wins this one.

Pros for Ole Miss

Shown resiliency
Good quarteback
Innovative offensive play calling

Pros for Alabama
