The football run is much more impressive. That is complete dominance over every other conference. In baseball, the SEC doesn't really set itself apart from any other conference so it's hard to say it's as impressive. I understand the parity but just the fact you say there is parity means the SEC doesn't dominate that sport and therefore isn't as impressive.

This is exactly I what I have been trying to get across. You nailed it better than I did though.

What the hell do you know about the SEC and dominating baseball, football, soccer, softball, gymnastics, swimming, equestrian.

You're just going into your Sophomore year in the league.

Football, baseball is all about getting hot at the right time. You don't need to be the best team in the conference to win it, look at MSU

if we played the regular season like we have played the post season we would have been the best team in the conference.

The LSU-Louisville game from June 17 posted a 0.6 rating on the Nielsen scale. That's less than 800,000 people tuning in for that game. All but one bowl game last year had better viewership ratings.

WTF Really? If I would have spent money in the Stock Market like I did at the casino's I would have been rich enough to hire someone else to write this.

Plus, getting to Omaha is less a popularity contest than football and more a grueling challenge starting with regular season play, conference tournaments, regional placement, and super regionals.

Nielsen is wrong, college baseball is super relevant and everyone cares.

That's somewhat irrelevant to the OP. He wasn't asking which accomplishment was more widely-received and acknowledged by the general population, he was asking which feat was more impressive in terms of the nature of the sport.

football is still the answer to the OP. it is just accentuated by the fact that not a lot of sports fans nation wide watch the CWS. otherwise, we should be discussing track, swimming, and gymnastics.

They are directly linked when asking for people's opinion of each as their view of the sport will be a a deciding factor.

Don't believe me? Start the same thread but include Arkansas's track dynasty...

If so few people care, then how can it be so impressive? I wouldn't even know who was in the championship round of the CWS if it wasn't for the fact I was browsing this board last night. No one gives a flying flip about college baseball. That fact alone makes anything that happens in the sport less impressive than football.

All of the major schools pump millions of dollars into football while giving substantially less money to their baseball programs. What the SEC has done in football is much more impressive due to the fact that it's the sport schools around the country care about the most.

More of a true playoff system that tests many different factors of teams' strengths - namely, winning games in a variety of different ways. It's more of a test of a team's endurance and overall depth. True, there may be less room for error on the football field, but the lack of a true playoff system has the media playing a much bigger role in which teams get pinned in different bowls.

Keyword: "I" as in: you personally don't care. I'm sorry that your team isn't part of the discussion for baseball, and that may be why you are more partial to football (granted, your team is the best in football, there is no denying that).

Again, the question didn't have to do with popularity. It had to do with accomplishment on the field.

I'm taking a stab at this, but I'm guessing your answer is baseball.

And we see how that works for the NFL. 10-6 and 9-7 teams have been winning the Super Bowl more and more often as of late. Playoffs don't show us who the best team is, they merely show us who the hottest team is.

And I'm not the only one. When a College World Series game has less viewership than the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl then your sport is pretty irrelevant. The SEC run in baseball is about as impressive as UCONN's in women's basketball a few years back. Sure…way to win all those games, but the competition was lacking due to the lack of money going into the sport.

You have your opinion, and I have mine. I can tell that no amount of arguing with change either of ours, so I'll leave it at that.
