It is going to go up, guarenteed. As an example I am a TSF donor this year for the first time ever. There are alot of ppl like me. SEC enthusiasm is the primary driver.

You are an idiot if you believe the past is any indicator of the future in this regard.

Columbia, MO is home to a few of the wealthiest Americans, most notably the Kroenkes and the Lauries.

Both are big financial supporters, the Lauries paid for Mizzou Arena.

Mizzou has some deep pockets, just shitty average donors.

Is this figure just for the 12th Man Foundation? Because when it comes to academic and moneyz, we ain't sittin in the middle of the pack in an SEC list.

Yes, that list is strictly for athletic related giving.

You should be worried if money is what it takes to win and Mizzou has been so pathetic (admittingly) in that regard. What can Mizzou do once money stars filtering in?

People always assume "Our walmart money" They don't give much if any to athletics anymore. Haven't in at least a decade. All the money is now given to academics.

Just curious, what is it about a move to the SEC that is igniting the desire for these big money tigers to donate? I just don't see why that would open the flood gates.

Also, there are some differences in reporting/accounting for each of these schools which means this list isn't really a 1:1 translation between universities.

This

Yes, it's exciting to play better teams but yall didn't set the world on the fire in the Big 12. The East (too much talent in that area) will rise again, once that happens you'll be trying to not be 7th with Kentucky and Vandy.

It's like joining the Army. Sounds like it will be exciting and fun at first.

Then...you're arse is walking into Basic Training and you're thinking..."frick...my... life."

Then we will rise with it. If Arkansas and South Carolina can rise in the SEC then so can we. Its not like when the other teams get better we automatically cant either.

I'm gonna guess Kentucky.

I am gonna say no on Kentucky because even if everybody in the state gave a dollar, that would still put them at least over 4 million and those seats in Rupp aint cheap.

My guess is Ole Miss or Vanderbilt. Yeah I know Vandy has some rich folks, but do they give to sports?

Well, for corporate donors, there's more value in an SEC affiliation than Big 12. More games on TV, more excitement, more interest in the programs. And Missouri companies want their University to do well - after all, they recruit employees from Mizzou, as well as it just being a matter of pride. I expect corporate donations to increase pretty substantially.

And for individuals, there's something for them to be proud of now. For years, Mizzou football sucked. Now we've had some success, and people tend to back a winner. Especially when their school is joining the best conference in college sports. Just my opinion though.

And you're right - accounting practices are different and the comparisons aren't necessarily equal. We have the 4th largest endowment in the SEC, I think? Just different pots of money from school to school. TSF annual giving is different than fundraising for specific projects.
