Back to the topic: Is two national championships correct?
I would say that 2 consensus national championships is correct. You say your interested in our history so I will give a little bit of it.

And of course there was 1960 in football when Missouri was ranked number 1 and undefeated until Kansas chose to use a player Bert Cohen they knew would be declared ineligible because he was their only chance of winning. They did win and knocked Missouri out of the number 1 spot only to later have to forfeit the game. So Missouri finished 10 and 1 and lost the chance of being National Champions but later were given the win back but couldn't be given the number 1 ranking back because it was after the National Championship was decided so the record books show them at 11 and 0. They were ranked number 1 when the loss happened so had they won they most likely would have been national champions.

So basically Mizzou can claim it just like other schools do since there's no REAL NCAA National Championship Trophy for Div 1a(FBS) champions.

But, the way you reacted makes me believe that the LSU and Bama fans are right about all of the jort wearing yankee Florida fans.

You have to be patient with kills. He's related to Kige I do believe.

What was the player's name that KU used to cheat MZ out of a national championship?

bullshite, dude. You're trolling hard because you were called out yesterday for not knowing a damn thing about Missouri...which is true.

I Kige this.

These offseason threads really blow.

If he was really curious (which I doubt), then Wikipedia and Google would provide more than enough of a primer.

I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I started an equally shitty thread curiously asking what Florida athletics was like prior to Steve Spurrier taking the reins. How was Florida in football before Spurrier? I don't know how to use Google so I'm hoping someone can please tell me.

Start your Pre-Spurrier thread dude. It'll bother me about as much as a ice cold beer on a hot day bothers me.

I posted on my way out of town and thought I could get some good info in between appointments.

It wasn't a flame at all.

My 1984 blackberry browser does lend itslef to great googling.

The aggies and a few tigers answered. I learned something about the noobs today.

Some of you are weird.

Don't have a lot of time before my next appointment but if I were really trolling I would have said something like this:

Two championships is two more than I would have guessed.

Seriously though, I was expecting some wrestling championships in addition to the two stated earlier. Maybe I was thinking of Iowa with regard to wrestling though.

I'm always surprised by our winning percentage since we sucked prior to spurrier.

I'm surprised there ain't no wrasslin' in the SEC.

Hopefully we can continue to compete in some other league for that. I've heard they are thinking of linking up with Okie Light and some other Midwest schools to make their own league.

Spurrier did some serious raping and pillaging in the 90s. Meyer did some as well but in the last 30 years nothing compares to Spurrier's dominance in the 90s. Gotta go back to Bear Bryant in the 60s and 70s -- particularly the 70s.

Nothing was sweeter in the 90s than beating Florida because it didn't happen often.

Florida fans are much more tolerable these days...
