There's a difference in being a traditional powerhouse and being a great team. just because ole Miss isn't a traditional power doesn't mean that they aren't a good team.

You Little Eight schools don't understand the success enjoyed by the Bix Six schools. It's okay and understandable. I hope it isn't too far above your comprehension level to understand that Ole Miss is a very good team and Florida just rubbed their balls across their forehead. And Mizzou's about to get the same treatment.

Jesus Christ you guys are sensitive - this thread has nothing to do with Ole Miss.

Is QB the only reason this offense has been this bad? I know Lock played against South Carolina, and he had a few impressive throws, the TD in the corner on a rope was very nice.

But why hasn't the run game been any good? Missouri usually has a decent running game. Is it the OL?

Our OL is a disaster, but to be fair they had their best game of the season against SC. Some would say they have bought in with Lock as the QB. Some would also say our OL coach is an a-hole and needs to be shown the door.

Most Mizzou fans were not expecting a three-peat of winning the East, but hoping for bowl eligibility in 2015. If Lock remains our QB we now have the potential to mess with division hopefuls.

Looking forward to hosting the Gators!

You Florida fans are showing the same over confidence some Ole Miss fans showed against you. You were lucky to squeak by Tennessee and Kentucky earlier this year, so I would be a bit more cautious about this game

Why on earth would you believe that some fan overconfidence would have any bearing on any game? I have never understood this warning. It's really weird.

Our 1,000 yard rusher from last year got hurt on almost the first play from scrimmage this year. He hasn't been even close to 80% since.

Our "2nd string" back doesn't seem to find the holes and falls down at first contact. 3rd string guy is a little bit of a bruiser, but not all that polished and without breakaway speed.

Our best RB, IMO, averages 1 carry a game.

On top of that, the OL has some guys playing out of position and our stud center has been playing hurt. They haven't looked great on run blocking, but seem to have done better on pass protection.

Lock having his second start vs that Florida D is rough. I don't think the Mizzou OL is great either but I've really only seen their game vs UK.

Mizzou always has a beast front seven. I think UF wins but it will be a low scoring affair

This is true. But MM never used his speed the right way. Loved running around but very seldom straight forward. And when he did he made big plays.

You're just now figuring this out? Did you not watch the Mizzou-Uconn game this year?

Only reason? No, but it was a key contributor in every phase. All of a sudden the entire offense played better. Blocked better, caught the ball better, ran better. Mauk was very easy to defend and on top of that made several horrible decisions per game.

Like I said, we are far from being a great offense but we are better with Lock and logic would suggest we should continue to improve. Hansbrough is also getting a little healthier each week.

I'm sure you'll say I'm just being biased, but how much do you think playing South Carolina - the worst D in the league - helped the offense look better?

Why would anyone other than Miz fans do that? Not trying to troll.

Well it was on at noon on ESPN... The point is no shite the offense sucks. If we had a decent offense to go with our defense we would be 5-0 right now.

I'm sure it helped, but again you'd have to watch every snap of every game to get a true picture of what exactly I'm talking about.

With Mauk back there we had extreme difficulty in executing even the most basic plays of our offense. Turned the ball over too much, and took a lot of negative or no gain plays. The entire offense just "looked" better from an execution standpoint., and you'll think I'm being bias but we intentionally played a very conservative gameplan against them and especially in the second half. Pinkel said as much.

Florida will be a much stiffer test though. No doubt.

A few injuries...nothing long term serious and backups haven't been as effective as hoped BUT we're getting a little better.

As far as the O-line, this is our most experienced group and NO they haven't played great yet.....but they will. The jury is still out on our O-line coach.

Fair enough -

Also

For fairness, Mizzou's defensive stats:

Rushing YPC allowed - 2.85 - #13 nationally

Passing YPA allowed - 5.63 - #17 nationally

Yards per play allowed - 4.01 - #9 nationally

TFL per game - 9.6 - #2 nationally

Scoring D - 12 PPG - #7 nationally

Strong unit.

If you have seen our offense play one set of downs this season, you can see there are some deep-rooted issues. It looked a little bit better this past week with Lock in there, but yeesh, it's bad.

If only we could borrow our offense from ~2007 to complement this defense.
