It's in Manhattan and Kansas State has a salty arse team this year.
Anybody outside the Top 2 of the league would have a war on their hands if they had to play that game there.

Pinkel's cancer and then 4 years of Barry Odom left us pretty far behind where we should be. The fact we even made a bowl last year is pretty impressive for where we've been.
We will see how it goes, but there's no arguing with the talent Drink has brought in. We just have to see if he can actually coach it (I have my doubts).
As for K State - that's a team that would give most Power 5 teams fits. Certainly a team like this year's Ole Miss

That sounds about what I'd expect from Mizzou. It's a failure of an athletic department.

The class he brought in last year was scary good by Missouri standards. He seems to be off to a slow start this year, though.

You know "athletic department" encompasses more than football, right?

Not sure how a 1-0 record while beating a 19.5 spread by 8.5 points constitutes a "slow" start.
I would say we need a larger sample size to see if he can employ these new recruits for success. I think K-State will be a good test to see where we are.

I was talking about recruiting. The '23 class is ranked like #63 or something, while the '22 class ended #16. It was a ridiculously good and encouraging start, and for some reason he's not doing quite as well this year. You have any insight why? Is a big surge expected?

It's gonna get a decent bump in about 4 hours.

You are not wrong. This is their super bowl as well, an old Big 8 rival coming into town. That stadium is going to be at capacity for this game.
That being said, I do like Mizzou and the points. I think the Tigers will come out swinging. Our first true test of the year, and will really show us what we can expect for the rest of the season.
Let's go Tigers!!! M-I-Z!!!!

you are 3-3 vs kstate, go back to your hole
The last time they beat us was 1926, and they never managed more than a single digit victory
There's not a big enough sample size to really make a comparison, but we played them twice last decade, and both times were kind of beatdowns. And then the previous time we played, we beat them in 1967, and it was another drumming.

Oh, sorry! My bad.
Yes, I would agree that he is significantly off his pace compared to the first two years. I'm not quite sure why, but then again I was not quite sure why he had the success he did on the recruiting trail in the last two years. If he can post a winning record this year hopefully the recruiting will accelerate.
