The MSU facebook page posted a video of some of his calls. It's worth watching and now I feel depressed as frick.

Finebaum interviewed him years back. He had a very unique voice. Sounded like something right out of the 1940s.

Poor guy went though a lot in his later life. His wife died in 1988, got prostate cancer in 2001, and went through kidney dialysis since 2011,

RIP Rabbi.

Excellent talent and most of all as a person. His book really shows more to the man than we would have ever known because of his humble nature and selfless way. The personal sacrifice he made for MSU is almost heartbreaking after reading the book.

Thanks Jack WIIMAW

Probably the best radio announcer I've ever heard. It's between him and Jim Henderson, in my opinion.

One of my favorite calls was when Mississippi State was beating Auburn in the second half and there was bad weather in the area and he said that if he heard there was a tornado warning, he was leaving and didn't care if they stopped the game or not.

I always thought he was the best. Some got more attention but he was the best out there.

RIP Jack.

I'll never forget Jack after a game years ago that MSU lost under Croom when he said "And now I bring you the Sonic drive of the game.... My drive home, and I hope it's an uneventful one."

Great announcer, just a legend in college football. Rest in peace, Jack, and condolences to the MSU folks.

Heck of a guy... Cristil was a credit to broadcast journalism and it isn't just a sad day for Bulldogs, it's a sad day for the entire conference... Hope he passed peacefully.

RIP Jack
