Actually, I haven't been mad about this deal, since before the "Money was too much", articles were still being printed. Anyone that followed Cam's recruitment knows how that went down, and that includes most common Auburn fans.

I have nothing against Cam, and never have. He wanted to come to State, but daddy was looking for a go-between to procure his asking price. Happens all the time in sports.

The beauty of cheating the right way is that no one knows for sure if AU paid him or not, EVEN after a 13 month investigation by the NCAA. The only thing we do know is that MSU and its boosters do not know what they are doing and need to take notes from the big boys.

As far as this Brooks kid goes. If he signed the LOI then he needs to be treated like every other transfer out there or needs to go to prep school. Can't set the precedent of letting a kid out of a LOI even if he has parents acting like toddlers.

Garrison's dad is George Brooks - assistant men's basketball coach at Miss State. His mother is a vindictive nut job, and has demonstrated as much throughout his recruitment. That is the reason it's been a complicated situation for Howland. I'm just glad we won't have to deal with this drama again in the future, and honestly don't care where he plays now. Good luck to him.

Was he released? I have not followed this story outside of this thread

Honestly, that is probably better for MSU in the long run if he truly did not want to be there. I'm not sure I have seen a kid that has had drama in recruitment like this ever become a star or do anything of note. Apparently UNC was a major player for him? And AU I guess although I don't recall ever hearing his name.
