I highly doubt you've spent a substantial amount of time in either Gulfport or Biloxi.

ETA: Of course you are going to think Lafayette is better. I moved from Baton Rouge to Starkville and visited Biloxi and Gulfport. I was biased thinking Louisiana cities were the best until I got to the Miss. Coast. Both cities are better than Lafayette.

Does Lafayette have beaches?

By your comment, I highly doubt you've been there for more than a day.

No, and we don't have a bunch of trashy casinos either.

Gulfport/Biloxi better than Lafayette

Good one!

There's really no need to white knight for the MS coast pivey. It's considered part of the redneck riviera for a reason.

There are better towns on the MS coast than Gulfport and Biloxi. Ocean Springs and Bay St. Louis are nicer than just about anywhere in La, including Lafayette.

Starkville is part of a micropolitan area called the Golden Triangle, which is currently booming with new industry. There are definitely a lot of things going on around Starkville with more to come. Airbus/Eurocopter, Stark Aerospace, Aurora Flight Sciences and Yokohama Tire are some of the companies located there. Plus Columbus AFB is also in the region which trains about 40 percent of the pilots in the US Air Force. To say nothing goes on around Starkville is dumb.

In his defense....it is hard to understand true cajuns

And Lafayette doesn't have a lot of trailer parks

But he's bitter about losing twice to a Sunbelt Team

I did a short stint as a well logger for Schlumberger out in Cutoff. If the Cajuns don't want you to understand what you are saying, you cannot understand what they are saying. If they do want you to understand what you are saying, it can be still be difficult.

In Cutoff, Lafayette was considered "up North".

Just because you prefer ocean springs to Lafayette doesn't make it nicer. Nicer for you maybe, but not nicer in general.

I like the MS gulf coast. I have family there, but I will retire in Acadiana somewhere, that's just me though.

This "journalist" is straight up ignorant.
