Your lack of football knowledge is showing. An SEC team with 6 wins gets a bowl. If we only beat UK, Vandy, UAB, UTM, USM, and USA, we still would get a bowl. Granted, it would be in Birmingham, but a bowl.

Speaking of So Miss, I find it amazing how a team can go 12-2 one year, then 1-23 the next 2. They went like 18 years w/o a losing season.

Their AD has been running a deficit for a while now. Kind of hard to fix that without the capitol.

I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that Kansas State has a better program than USM, UAB, South Alabama, and Tennessee-Martin. In fact, I thin you could combine those 4 programs and they still wouldn't be better than Kansas St.

Auburn played Washington State, Arkansas State, Florida Atlantic, and Western Carolina last year.
MSU at least played Oklahoma State, who won 10 games last year.
Like others have said, I'm for playing easier teams to make sure we get those extra practices. Let the top SEC teams play the tougher OOC games.
No one cared that State played a good team OOC and lost. If State had played an easier team than Ok State, we would have had 8 regular season wins and played in a better bowl.
If we ever improve our program to where we would regularly be winning 8-9 games in the regular season, then we can play better teams OOC.

Southern Miss was a consistent 7-9 win team when the contract was signed. We can't help they became terrible.
