Classy post. Mike the VI is very special to me because he's the one I got to visit with my grandkids on a day when he was rockin' it! Will never forget that day.

Going to miss you Mike.

BTW: My first dog as a child was a Collie. Fascinating story about the legacy of Reveille. Love SEC traditions!

In India the workers in the jungle came up with an idea of putting a mask on the back of their heads to prevent being ambushed by tigers, it worked the first year...the following year the tigers realized what was up also they have taken people out of boats in rivers

I posted some of that earlier. They are smart as hell.

Poor India bastards. They're food.

Beautiful animal! Such an awesome experience of seeing Mike on campus. Sucks to see him go. I know Mike VII will be or try to be as great as Mike VI.

I wonder when we're going to put a black bear exhibit on campus?

Mike VI has been a very special Tiger for LSU.

I've been around since Mike 3. IIRC 3 & 4 were mean arse tigers. Beautiful majestic and awesome creatures but they were not like Mike 6.

Mike VI has almost been like a pet. He's playful and has a personality like none of the others.

We as LSU fans will miss him and remember him as "The" Tiger of LSU Athletics.

I lost my mom last year but she worked for years at LSU. She was retired by the time Mike VI came to LSU but she would still be on the campus a couple time a day.

I went with her to LSU for a ceremony in 09. She said let's go see mike. I was like sure I love going to see Mike. I didn't know but she had been going to see him often....and anyone who knows that Tiger knows what that meant.

She showed her face to him and he came a running, jumping in his water feature and going right up the glass like he wanted to hug her.

Scared the living shite out of me, she and him had a "thing" so she had gotten use to it.

RIP Big Guy, say hey to my mom when you get up there

Beautiful beast, guys. So sorry for what y'all are having to go through with him.

He's an awesome creature and has obviously touched more lives than most of us could ever know. The kids that have gotten to see him like those that have been pictured will have those memories for the rest of their lives. You really can't beat that. Mike will live on.

Mike was a curious cat that loved kids!! Seems as if anytime he saw a child he would do his best to entertain them, and make them feel special. I always saw MikeVI as a big tabby cat that wanted to play around. Mike V was a bit temperamental and absolutely hated the mascot suit.

Gonna miss Mike VI!!!!

I took a Zyrtec, for Christ's sake.

It's not working! Leave me alone! There's nothing wrong with me! (turns away in embarrassment)
