Lawd, picture number 5! And this whole time I thought our Mike was chill, loved kids, and just wanted to eat and swim.

That is not something I would want to see IRL. Ever.

The last time I saw him was the Miss St game. He was walking around like a total badass. His length in real life is what you don't appreciate until you see him.

FRICK I hate cancer....

I've seen three Mikes in my day, and this cat was absolutely the most gorgeous of them all, with a great personality to go with it.

The previous Mikes were smaller, and seemed more intense and fierce, but that might have been due to the stir-crazy pen they were in.

When Mike V was just a kitten, about knee high when he arrived at LSU, I was walking by his cage one night, when I realized he was crouching down and stalking me like prey. I took off running around his cage, and we had a great back and forth game of cat and mouse going on for a little while. I'll never forget it.

I thought losing that Mike hurt. But, this current Mike is a gem of the species. Hate to see him go.

Mike VI is the first one with some Siberian in him IRCC. That's why he's much bigger.

That's an awesome story about Mike V btw

A couple years ago I was visiting Mike with my then 7yo daughter. She was up against the plexiglass where the water is when Mike waded in. He came right up to the glass and put his paw up to her hand, and gazed into her eyes for a couple of seconds. Afterwards my daughter turned up to look at me with this wondrous expression, like a little supernatural encounter had just taken place. Really just a surreal moment. If you haven't seen him up close, you can't truly appreciate how magnificent this tiger is. Sad day.

This is true and they should try to find the bengal/siberian mix again in the next tiger. He was bigger and more beautiful than the previous Mikes.
