Yeah. It was Stallings.

Those Stallings teams would stress the hell out of me. Won most of the time, but I think he loved those 17-14 type games.

edit: I took the thread on a tangent, talking about Palmer at the qb position. Sorry about that.

The actual record is heavily in Tennessee's favor, because Bama fans told me that wins your team gets when your rival sucks don't count.

You address your father as "Mr. Fulmer, sir."

Oh, it was a long discussion I had with some Bama fans who said that Fulmer being Bama's daddy didn't count because Alabama was awful during that time period.

So the actual record, I'm afraid, is 23-8-1 UT.

When Kenny Smith was questioned by Fulmer's "secret" buddy if Alabama had offered him incentives, Smith replied "no, but Tennessee did".

Did you hear they've got phones that can do math for you now? I heard it from some people up in Ohio. They think they're so great with their paved roads and running water.

Don't worry, I told them to get off my driveway, puttin tracks in it with their Pry-us or whatever the hell it was. I chased 'em off with a shovel while Junior was wavin the airsoft rifle to startle em.

No doubt. Regarding telephones my great-grandfather had the only phone in two counties. Folks came from all over to use it. That said, it was because he was a moonshiner and needed it for prohibition. He supplied Capone, FWIW.

The rest of the counties didn't catch up until many years later.

Too bad when prohibition ended so did the outrageous money but we were running what amounted to a big distillery not your average shiners. Crazy to say but my own mom didn't initially have an indoor toilet when she was super young and I'm not even that old but it just took time to demand such things and smaller counties were a low priority. It just wasn't cost effective. Even now, Comcast has fought tooth and nail to NOT run cable/high speed internet in rural counties (or at least the lesser populated portions of a county) because the cost is too high for the work.
