No. See above. He isn't good enough.
He was good enough to be co sec defensive player of the year. Just not quite big enough for the NFL.

Maybe if the guy wouldn't have made such a big deal about his sexuality & just focused on playing football, he wouldn't be "worried about his mental health" & he'd still be playing. He brought the circus show onto himself, why was it so important to let everyone know who he has sex with? If he wants to be a football player, then focus on that & leave all things not related to football out of it. Sounds like the guy wanted to be some sort of "PC Legacy" far more than a football player. He's gay, good for him, now shut up & play football.

He's a drama queen. His draft day stuff is so cringeworthy. It would have been even if he was making out with a girl instead of a dude.

No he didn't. He kept it quite for 4 years and didn't come out until the media had it. The draft thing was a mistake but what the fuk was ESPN doing there in the first place?

I guess ESPN showed up unannounced on his door step.

Didn't he have a reality show set to go, and then pulled the plug because he got blasted for it?

To make a media spectacle out of him, which he gladly agreed to. He whored himself out. I have no problem with him capitalizing on his 15 minutes, but don't act like he didn't welcome and benefit from the attention.

Blake Sims broke the Alabama single season passing record in 2014. He isn't good enough either.

You're good enough for the NFL or you aren't. He, like Sims, was a great college player but isn't good enough for the next level.

so he was cut by the team that drafted him and then had the opportunity to sign as a free agent by dallas. maybe he's just not good enough to play in the nfl.

Money shot?

Sam and Tim Make a Porno
Lifelong platonic friends Sam and Tim look to solve their respective cash-flow problems by making an adult film together. As the cameras roll, however, the duo begin to sense that they may have more feelings for each other than they previously thought.

Who agreed to all the media coverage, gave the interviews, & allowed ESPN to follow him around with cameras?

What the fuk was ESPN doing there anyway?

I truly doubt it was a hostile takeover at the Sam house.

The media made a big deal out of Sam because his story was kind of a big deal. He was a first for the NFL. The next openly gay NFL player won't be nearly as a big a deal and eventually it won't be a story at all.

He did well in college and I think he could do well in the NFL as a roleplayer but he has to leave his issues at the door. The thing that always bothered me about Michael Sam was that football seemed secondary to making a statement.

When you look at the trailblazers in sports they let their playing do the talking. If Sam wanted to be a real trailblazer he'd have made a name in the pros and then come out and done so in a matter of fact way. He wouldn't have made a big production about it or done the whole weird as frick cake thing. All that was just attention whoring by a low round draft pick.

If he can make it on the field and add value, the Falcons should sign him yesterday. Put the other stuff to the side. Refuse to answer questions for journalists. Put your head down, and do work.

I'm not so sure this is the case. It seemed as though the cat was likely out of the bag and it was announce or get announced, the way I recall it anyways... timing was bad for him personally so I see no way that he would have done it then.

Except for one it's because of an honorable reason.
