Quick everyone, there's no time to waste. Let's change our narrative before Auburn has a chance to upset Alabama.

They have a chance. "Decent" is a pretty vague modifier. Any rivalry game on the level of Auburn/Alabama has to be viewed as an outlier as far as betting odds go.
And message boards or no, I seriously doubt Saban will allow his team to get complacent. It has happened before, but Saban is more intense than most in this regard.

Yep, he really does have a tendency to let his team get cocky and lose to lesser teams all the time.
Well, I didn't say that he makes a habit of losing to lesser teams. But every coach does it on occasion because people, especially young men, are prone to overconfidence after a period of success. That's why the title contained the word "chance", overconfidence increases the risk of an upset IMO. Putting a percentage on it it is meaningless, but much better chance than you guys think.

But your argument kind of falls apart with Auburn. Even if your hypothesis about the correlation between message boards and the teams holds any water -- you offer no proof and it doesn't really pass the sniff test -- we're talking about a coach that is super intense about his job and one that is: 1) looking at a rivalry game; 2) looking to repeat as NC; 3) has a great track record of taking each opponent seriously; and 4)completely aware that Auburn has a pretty good record, the UGA loss notwithstanding. You're not making a very good case here.

True. I didn't try to quantify it and don't plan to put that much effort forth. It's just an observation from reading message boards for a good while. I do think Auburn will at least enter the game with more determination than Bama. We'll see if they can keep it going for 60 minutes.

Probably not. You realize he's been injured for 3 weeks right?
Even when he's healthy, Alabama is a bad matchup for him. Think about the teams who have beaten Alabama since 2008 and think about the skill set of the QBs on those teams.
Florida- Tebow
Utah- Brian Johnson
South Carolina- Garcia
LSU- Jefferson
A&M- Manziel
Ole Miss- Wallace and Kelly
OSU- Cardale Jones
Auburn- Newton and Marshall
Oklahoma- Knight
All of those QBs had good to great mobility. White is an ok runner but not great at it.

The defense might hold it close for a while. Gives up too many big pass plays though. Hurts will break a good run. Hit a long pass. Stewart will take off on one.
Once those things happen, the game will either trickle to a close with a 17-20 point Bama win or the flood gates will open for a big blowout.
No way our offense does jack shite if White is hurt. You can have Pettway at 100% and I'll feel the same.

Won't be close. Bama is the number one team this year.

But Alabama is still pissed about 2010 and 2013.

dont see it...unless youre willing to take the 15 yarder and ejection to put Hurts out of the game.

Hahahahahaha....Bama 45-0

How many times have we read this story before only to see Auburn pull the upset?

Message boards: the most accurate barometer of how good a team is.

Gut feeling: Auburn brings it, hangs around for awhile and then Alabama starts overwhelming them late in the 3rd quarter similar to 2014

You clearly don't know this Alabama team very well. Or this rivalry.
