I didn't say it was. Although if I wanted to argue about something that happened five years ago I'd say a game that started out 31-0 and the home team was never really in was a blowout, but I don't want to

Hope this year's version of Georgia gets as healthy as possible soon, I want to see yall in Atlanta again

Mark Richt has lost control of the way his past teams are perceived.

It was a 14 point game with 14 minutes left in the 4th quarter. That's "being in it". But whatever, we lost, I've moved on.

Yes, we're going to luck into a NC soon and then get stuck with Richt for 8 or so more years

One word explains it: coaching. And while those are for the most part decent players or defense, they obviously didn't have enough of a supporting cast to keep our defense from sucking, which it did. If fact if you look at UGA under CMR, offense has always been a priority over defense. We have never had a team like Florida, LSU or Alabama in which defense pretty much is the foundation of the team and the offense just needs to score say just 3 or 4 TD's to win the game.

Many if those players were among the 20+ first and second teamers that suffered either season ending injuries or missed a significant amount if games at some point during the year, including the starting LT and the back up LT. UGA just didn't have the depth to deal with that kind if attrition against a tough schedule. In addition, they were still be penalized for the end zone party from 2007. It was still worth it in my mind, though, even if plenty if people have added up the PF penalties per and post 2007 partying and have shown there was a significant increase. Still feel free to call it whatever the hell else you guys want to call it.

A better question is how 2010 Alabama lost any games...

Because we lost 20+ starters to season ending injuries. Everybody on this board is a fricking retarded idiot. WE LOST 20+ STARTERS TO SEASON ENDING INJURIES. THAT IS WHY.

If the coaching was so bad explain how they developed that much talent.

The 2007 UGA team would have slaughtered LSU in the SECCG if they had faced each other. UGA was on a hell of a roll offensively at the point of the season. IMO the 2007 team is Richts best team he ever had. Now with the 2008 they may have had the OL decimated with graduations/NFL, but I agree on paper they should have been in contention for the BCS. But like all things Mark Richt, they shite the bed when it mattered..

A few reasons.

1) 2008 Florida was really, really good. One of the best in SEC history. So was Bama, though we shouldn't have come out so damn flat.

2) That UGA team was absolutely decimated by injuries. More so than this UGA team.

3) They played one of the most brutal schedules you could ever have. SEC East schedule + @Aub, @ LSU, Bama. Then add @Ariz St and vs. GT (when they still had good players: Nesbitt, Dwyer, D. Thomas, Burnett, etc).

4) Willie Martinez still coached the defense, although one could make a good argument that Grantham hasn't done any better.

Moreno wasn't that good in college. He wasn't a Garrison Hearst, Robert Edwards or a Musa Smith.

He had a National Championship calibre team in 2002... 13-1... smoked FSU in the Sugar Bowl. Had the chips fallen different in 02, MR's legacy would be completely different.

He would just be known derisively as "Big Game Mark" due to the fact he hasn't won anything of any importance since that time.
