God forbid someone have a different opinion than you. Mcelwain sucked in the red zone, plain and simple. Besides that he was pretty damn good. I am VERY thankful for what he did at Alabama while he was here.

He absolutely did suck when in the redzone. I still think part of the reason is that he felt like we should be able to use our big blue-chip RB's to grind it out for TD's. He should have learned from previous experience and changed up though. Imagine a gameplan like this years championship game with Julio still on board.

I don't think his accomplishments should give him a free ride in regards to the redzone issues. No one, not even Saban (oh my god!!!), is beyond criticism.

48-6. That is an amazing accomplishment in college football as a member of the SEC. What you seek is perfection. If all you can say after a team goes 48-6, 2 NC's, and some of the most productive offenses in Bama history is he sucked in the redzone. You have much to be thankful for.

Edit: Dammit I am going to an Auburn site for a bit. I am feeling nauseous sticking up for a former Bama coach's accomplishments.

Florida's 2006-2009 teams accumulated a nearly identical record at 48-7. The one major weakness of those teams was lack of a power running game outside of Tebow. No team is perfect.

I don't think its unfair to evaluate a program to look for areas of improvement. That's all I'm doing here. But like I already admitted, I was too harsh in my thread title.

But it hasn't been enough.

Yeah, two national titles in three years hasn't been enough. Just like how it's not obvious at all that you're not actually a BAMA fan.

Mc's offensive scheme ripped Florida apart in the 2009 SECCG, and LSU in the 2012 BCSCG.
