Thought you said we weren't going to be good next year? Shouldn't be a big deal to play us then.

Not many since Bama has played one good team since the start of the 2011 season. Bama is the BOISE ST of the SEC. Undefeated and they play no one. After next year LSU will have played USC and FLORIDA and then UGA and Florida. While Bama gets powerhouses KENTUCKY and MIZZ.

We play an SEC Schedule. SoS is overrated anyway. The eye test is where it's at.

just wondering what games he's played in a hostile environment

Penn St last year early in the season.

He's been very sheltered so far ironically by Florida being bad last year and Arky being bad this year.

It would be different if Alabama were winning these games by close margins. I could see your point about the SoS there. But we have destroyed everyone we have come up against. Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia - the three best teams in the East - all struggled against our one common opponent: Tennessee. Alabama annihilated them on the road. Mississippi State was supposed to be our first true test. By the start of the 2nd quarter our fan base was already looking ahead to LSU that game was so lopsided. I'm not saying we are going to destroy LSU and I am not saying we are going to win. I'm just saying we're a pretty good football team, strength of schedule be damned.

Depends on who you ask:

According to ESPN your first true test was Tenn

According to the grinders your first true test was against State

Your first true test comes this Saturday night. Don't kid yourself. You know this game was going to be the hardest one on the schedule and this is the main one we care about this year.

Reality is that McCarron hasn't played in a hostile environment against a really good team. It will be a fun game.

This week and the game that will be played Sat. night encompasses everything that is right about CFB. Rabid fanbases, exciting venue with all the legacies in tact (night game on Sat. night, LSU with a 22-game win streak at home, visiting Bama rolls in #1). Match up of two top 5 teams. Regardless of win or loss the CFB world will see the pinnacle of its raw existence in that game. The city will virtually shut down(probably most of the state tbh). I would assume a fair bit of Alabama will as well. It's going to be awesome.

PS - here's hoping for no major injuries on either side and refs that don't interfere with the game too much.

No way Neyland counts as a hostile environment this year. It's a neutral site at best against a humiliating defense.

Overrated. If two shitty QBs can come into Bryant-Denny at night and eek out a 3-point win in overtime then why can't a good QB come in and play well in Tiger Stadium?
