Whats the boards opinion of how he will fare this upcoming year.
Coming into last year he was receiving a good bit of hype for his play (more the teams play) in relief of James Franklin the year prior.
Started off pretty hot against poor competition, had a stretch to start conference play that was about as bad as Ive ever seen a college QB play. Played better down the stretch, but he still was inconsistent. Hed make some "wow" plays, but hed also make some "what the frick are you doing" plays.
We return a pretty veteran OL, a 1000 yard back, but almost no production at WR. Its certainly not uncommon for a guy to make a pretty big leap in his second year of starting, but Im not sure what to expect.
We'll need him to be better, and I don't think we weather a 3 game stretch like he had last year and still win our division.

Yup, that was right in the middle of his awful stretch. Played like garbage that game.

I honestly don't see how good Maty emerges this year UNLESS your WRs emerge. If your WRs emerge early then good Maty has a chance but otherwise Maty will probably be inconsistent even if much of it's not his fault.

Agreed, that will be a big factor. I like our talent at WR/TE but it's all pretty much unproven.

I'm gonna say that the passing game will be bad this season and be pleasantly surprised if it's not.
Maty has a ton of potential, but he's gotta work on consistency. You can't miss wide open short or intermediate routes and expect to win a lot of games in this conference, especially with a very inexperienced WR group.

He doesn't run backwards 15 yards anymore...It's only like 14 yards now!
