Define national brand. I don't think Bama fits.

Most costly resembles is what I assume u mean, cause a pro team would smoke either of these teams. Packers and bama now thats funny, scoring machine in the pac with loads of offence, funny. Bama and lsu both resemble teams like the ravens or 49ers the most, awsome d,power running game, which is a good thing, power football.

Comparing an NFL team to my team is like comparing cheesecake and herpes.

i'm sorry but the worst nfl teams 3rd string would hurt bama or lsu soooooooo bad.

lsu would be the green bay packers and bama would be the new orleans saints if i must play and participate in this thread.

Pretty sure TC meant historically.

Both have 13 World/National Championships.

When I think best program in CFB history I think Bama, and when I think best franchise in NFL history I think Green Bay. My opinion, don't hate.

Would never have guessed that from your user name...

I tend to think of programs with the most wins like Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas...

^^ This. It was immediately what came to mind when I saw this thread. Otherwise this whole thread seems pointless. Teams largely change identities over time so its an easier comparison to liken current teams if it must be done at all. I'd say 2011 SEC:NFL matches look about like this:
West - Thank God for wild cards.
Ole Miss - Colts (see above)
Miss. St. - Vikings (Playing in the toughest division and it shows.)
Arkansas - Patriots? (Shocking myself but excellent QB play, terrible defense)
LSU - Broncos w/ Tebow (Said previously, but all they do is win. Certainly case could be made for GB if only looking at records but style is completely opposite.)
Bama - 49ers (Solid defense, RB Horse, Game managing QB)
Auburn - Chiefs? (Draft vs. Injuries: Same result... left in shambles.)

East - Like playing in the AFC West... someone's gotta make it
KY - Cardinals (Just a hot mess.)
Vandy - Bucs (Keep games closer than opponents would like but usually come up short.)
Tennessee - Raiders (Lost key offensive players to injury. Lots of young talent yet to really show up.)
Florida - Dolphins (Worse than expected but largely in transition and play a tough schedule.)
South Carolina - Bears (Getting it done with defense. Both had star RBs go down. Both lost QBs for one reason or another. Probably both missing out on playoffs/SEC as a result.)
UGA - Could probably leave this up to others since its tougher to grade your own team. Who had the easiest schedule in the NFL but got exposed against the good teams they played? Bengals?
OR Looked great when they could run the ball and didn't turn the ball over but have been betrayed by poor QB play and special teams nightmares. Cowboys?

Difference is we've kept winning with out our star RB and starting QB.

Fair enough. I actually had some trouble with the East in general. In all honesty though, dropping from Garcia to Shaw is probably lateral if not an upgrade while Hanie might not be able to start for some NCAA programs (kidding. but seriously.)

Bama is more like New England.

No personality dude for a coach and first round playoff loser of late.

LSU is like Baltimore-winning with playmakers on defense.

I would have said the Tigers more closely resembled the Pats as a team that always had good teams but recently came on to start winning big,
