I would have said the Tigers more closely resembled the Pats
That is who I was just thinking about. Decent amount of history, but never really dominant until very recently. Pats had 3 Superbowl Championships in a short period, LSU is working on doing the same.
Patriots probably have a bigger bandwagon than LSU does, but I think that happens to a lot of professional teams.

I'm a Packer fan and deeply offended.

wow. if the chargers were the best team in the league you'd claim them.

LSU is the old Oakland Raiders.

Me seeing similarities between the two organization has nothing to do with how the Packers have done this season or last season. I'm not even a Packer fan. I'm a fricking Redskins fan. I'm in hiding. A friend of mine who is a Saints fan loaned me his paper bag.

Can't take Dallas Cowboys. That has always been and always will be Notre Dame.

You would spin the similarities to *insertteamhere*. Your comparisons were vague and could be said about a lot of teams.

If you want to find a comparable NFL team, LSU is the Green Bay Packers. They aren't in the biggest media market, but they are a national brand. They were both built around two legendary coaches. They have both been around and winning since the very beginning. Both have absolutely rabid and demanding fanbases. Both have gone through tumultuous periods, but they always bounce back. There are NFL franchises out there that have more money, a better media market, but does anyone dispute that The Packers are one of the NFL very best franchises? The Packers are synonymous with the NFL. Louisiana state university is one of those teams that can be said to synonymous with college football.
See how easy that was. And it fits with LSU and a hand full of other teams as well.

This year LSU resembles the 49ers. Great defense and rushing attack coupled with a mediocre to average QB with great special teams.

So what NFL team does your team resemble?

Who was LSU's legendary coach again? What trophy bears his name? I am unfamiliar. I'm sorry. I was also unaware that LSU has a long history of success over the better part of a century. Even your own fellow fans admit LSU was good but never great until recently. Now, they are great.
Way to take something that was meant to be lighthearted and fun and turn it in to some dumbass pissing contest.

Pointing put that you would pick whichever team is winning an make a case =\= pissing contest. I never said "no, no, LSU is the packers!!!"
Just that your reasoning was generic and could be said about a lot of teams. Sans the legendary coach sentence, there are plenty of schools who can say the same thing.
Basically that you're spinning an argument to compare yourselves to the best team in team NFL right now.
Don't get so upset bc someone called you out in your dumb thread.

I would say Auburn reminds me of the Jacksonville Jaguars - shitty QB play, a kick arse Running Back that is under utilized - win games we shoulda lost and lost the games and not be competitive when playing decent teams.

not all based on W/L obviously
LSU - Steelers
Bama - 49ers
OSU - Packers

I didn't realize that Notre Dame was in the SEC. I guess Georgia really has been getting the favorable schedules.
