I don't see a way where this year would have the same appeal.
I have to disagree. In fact, I think it would be highest rated of all.
First game build up was not highly anticipated. Undefeated ACC champ vs. Ua juggernaut. The competitiveness of that game surprised a lot of people.
Part 2. Classic rematch story where roles were almost reversed. It resulted in one of the best CFB games of all time given the stakes and the way it played out.
Part 3 would have an incredible hype machine behind it with the ACC vs SEC narrative continuing to build for best conference in CFB.
If either team had won both previous games, I'd agree with you on general interest; however, should it come to be, it would be an epic tie breaker and garner national interest given the level of competition and entertainment of the first 2 games.

Seems about right. We are definitely better on defense vs offense.

I think we are a legit top ten team, personally. It's looking pretty likely that we are 7-0 heading to Jacksonville and in the top 5. 10-2 or better seems pretty possible, but 10-2 Georgia is probably right around top 10 IMO

Meh. Has a 2-0 Miami team ranked #8 based off wins against Bethune-Cookman and Toledo
Also have a 2-1 Georgia Tech team that got pantsed by Tennessee ranked #20, ahead of 4-0 Washington St, Iowa, and Miss St
Seems like a less flawed version of the ESPN FPI

I do. The Empire Strikes Back.
I get where you're going with this, but as the third installment, it would have to be Return of the Jedi... so there would be ewoks?

Certainly possible... just my opinion. I could see some "best of three" nonsense pulled out as with the ACC/SEC that you reference, but with no Deshaun Watson, I think it would take a rather impressive full season's body of work from Clemson to garner that level of interest... particularly with FSU now looking like a walkover... Hopefully Va Tech offers a good foil to them... if not a loss, at least a good challenge.

And how good is Georgia? Are they a legit top 10 team or are they really in mid teens? I do hope they go undefeated the rest of the way though
Reservations on Georgia are legitimate based on previous seasons. But we are the only team to have 2 wins over current top 25 teams under our belt. So there's that.
