However, they did score 4 plays after the punt. So it was a wash.

I was referring to the irst fumble by Auburn at the end of the game. Saturday Down South claimed CAP clearly recovered the fumble and Auburn should have kept possession of the ball

You're kidding right ?!? If Marshall just gives to CAP he runs it in for a score and yall win.. he didnt, the ball was fought over , fumbled and ultimately recovered by the aTm D... The rest, as they say, is... well, you know.

meah, it played out as it should. Two drives where AU scored would have ended in a sack if their LT didn't tackle Myles Garrett. Plus, we should have had a fumble six on the non called fumble by Williams.

In all honesty, they shouldn't have been in the game leading up to that point.

LOL. If Auburn doesn't commit the blooper of the year in the SEC, we win despite playing horribly. It makes no sense to act like a childish bitch when you pulled off a huge upset.

I disagree. AU playing defense like a bunch of retarded kindergarten girls is what cost them. but if there was an issue with that play for me it'd be the play call itself. dont get cute down around the goal line, hand it off or QB dive but you run a damn dedicated, downhill play.

Maybe I missed something but starting a thread that's both informative and completely based on facts isn't melting.

dude, i'm just laying out facts, it shouldn't have had to come down to the fumble. I'm glad we won, we deserved to. I'm just upset our boys had to play the refs too, that was unfair for them.

seems to me like you're the one who's upset.

Lol. There was nothing clear about that play except for the fact that A&M had the ball at the end of the scrum. Yes, I know. When you slow the video down to 1/10 speed, you can see Payne put both hands on the ball. But in real time, that lasted for only a small fraction of a second before a couple of A&M players jumped on the ball too too. And establishing possession isn't like scoring a TD (i.e. the instant the ball crosses the plane, it's a TD, play over). The refs always, always, always let 'em play for a few seconds.

Feel free to bitch about that if you like, but that's how the refs have always done it. In other words, the way the refs called that play was right in line with the way they always call that play and most definitely not an anomaly. Let the players fight for it and see who comes up with it. Some eighth of a second freeze frame has never meant shite and it didn't mean shite in this game either.

My team lost a shot at the playoff (admittedly who knows if that was very feasible) on account of a botched snap to end a game we were favored to win be 22. I haven't melted at all. Just seems weird to whine about the refs in a game you won, especially when you got some breaks on account of the refs as well.

so pointing out facts about blatant disregard for the enforcement of the governing rules of a football game is whining?

good to know, thanks!

They just don't let players wrestle over a ball in that situation. The referees often cant tell who initially recovered the ball, so they just give possession to the team that comes out of the pile with it. However, it seemed pretty clear that an Auburn player initially recovered that fumble. The referees on the field might not have been in position to see it, but the replay official should have noticed it pretty clearly
