I didn't take it personally. My brother thought it was funny and saved my head by catching a bag of beads about 6 inches from my head. He reminded me that my hat was basically a target inviting target practice.

Hey, at least they threw something your way. They are supposed to throw stuff to the crowd, but preferably not using their best Nolan Ryan impression.

To be fair, a lot of guys riding floats are sick and tired of people humming throws people didn't want right back at them at high velocity. I don't know about now, but it used to be very common. I may or may not know who any of those assholes were.

Just about every Alabama alum I've met has been great. The sidewalk fans, not so much. I'm sure the same can be said for LSU or most of the big SEC programs, but Alabama sidewalk fans seem to take it to another level.

New Orleans outlawed it in 1999. Not sure how it was in the years after that, but in recent years the NOPD has cracked down on it quite a bit. It gets you a $250 ticket.

i beamed a dude a couple nights ago because he threw something back at me. Didn't even feel 1 sorry for him
