If I were a high school recruit I would strongly consider Arkansas as well. Passionate fan base, great facilities, a coach who has proven he knows how to win and can develop NFL players, and on top of all that there is ample playing time available. That is something Alabama, Auburn, and LSU can't offer.

Unfortunately for him, he will probably always be at a talent disadvantage to schools like LSU, Bama, and UGA. Maybe he'll start to recruit better, and that talent disadvantage will lessen. Who knows.
We beat lsu and only lost to bama by one point with our current talent that berts steadily improving
Georgia just kicked our arse

Our depth chart is better then many think. We have little attrition, a great walk-on program and Bert always saves a couple of schollies for the gems he finds after NSD.

marcus spears is dumber than larry the golfer.....to approach that level is bordering on being brain dead

I think Bert and ArKansas are gonna surprise some folks this year. I am more worried about that game than any other. It's late in the year and we are thin on D-linemen.

I've grown some respect for Bert these last two years. His main problem to me is he hasn't won a close game yet at Arkansas. Don't know what his record was at Wisky and I guess it is inevitable he will win a few close ones at Arky. I know only two years.

Our problem last year was one of confidence. The players were so used to losing that they just couldn't break through.
Bret addressed it this spring. He said that the previous spring our players were so beat down that the coaches couldn't really yell at them like they needed to without breaking their spirits.
This off-season has been a huge turnaround in that regard. That's why it was so important to win our bowl game the way we did. Hopefully that difference will translate to finishing some close games when we need to.
