Also, if you could explain how his part time job doing radio broadcasts once a week during football season for Alabama somehow clouds his judgment in analyzing LSU's quarterback but not those of Tennessee or Ole Miss, that would be good.

As I said before, I don't think his judgment is as clouded as others here. But I don't think he saw anything of substance. Most likely he watched them working with kids, then in the "Air it Out" competition, neither of which would be good indicators of work ethic or progress in the offseason. More than likely, he didn't see the portion of the camp that is in any way meaningful.

He, like other sports media members, was looking to drum up a conversation to get more listens on a radio show and followers on twitter... whaddaya know, it worked.

Also, have you seen literally any other sportswriter, "insider," coach or anyone else talk about how bad and how lazy he was? Isn't that a little telling?

Just defending the information I provided in the OP from people who think there's somehow Alabama bias being displayed because Brandon Harris' performance wasn't praised.

Just listen to the interview. At no point does he call BH "bad" or "lazy". He just said during some some stupid Papa Johns publicity stunt competition he missed some easy passes and his accuracy was off, but he has very good arm strength. Also I doubt Phil Savage was able to watch any of the college QBs work with the Mannings. No one else from the media was allowed in. What makes him special?

Even if I just took it at face value, the guy is saying that Harris was being "lazy" in a sideshow passing "competition" (in which QBs throw balls at golf carts and high school receivers).

The horror.

He's not just some random member of the media trying to write a story for a local paper. He's the executive director of the Senior Bowl and former NFL Front Office executive. You think they would have said "sorry, you can't be here because you call football games once a week?" Phil Savage probably has access to whatever he wants in regards to that kind of stuff.

cause he's great at evaluating talent bro

he was director of something or another since 1995 in the NFL, you know a desk job with 5-10 people doing the actual talent evaluating, plus he's a ESPN expert!!!!!

Neither of those things matter in this context.

He has no affiliation with the Mannings or Nicholls State University. He does, however, have media affiliation. He doesn't just get all access passes to whatever he wants because of his NFL/senior bowl chops.

Probably matters when taking into account who was allowed to view a passing competition, wouldn't you think?

You guys are comical. Poor Brandon Harris didn't have his knob slobbed by Phil Savage, so Savage clearly must be a know-nothing hack making shite up for fun.

Phil Savage wasn't the only source listed in the OP, and another person - an LSU fan - has corroborated that description.

No. I just think his opinions are of a meaningless sideshow "competition." He didn't even mention that he saw him working with the Mannings.

What's more is the OP is a gross mischaracterization of what he said.
