Everything is there except a QB that the coaches trust, the players trust and trusts himself.

I think harvin was insane. His injury issues were the only reason dude wasn't scoring three touchdowns a game. He was literally unstoppable.

Harvin was and is a special player -- migraines notwithstanding, but you cannot expect to have a player like that every year.
They are rare.
Y'all can't complete a pass, and given the talent around Driskel, you should be able to.
Guy just doesn't have "it". He's gunshy.

Yeah it's fricked up that they have maybe the best running back they've had in a long long time in Mack Brown and now they can't pass it enough to keep people out of the box.
I still think there is hope for Driskell but he's got that high school QB mindset still when he was just faster and better than most of the defensive guys so he's really thinking about running almost constantly in the back of his mind, instead of as a last minute option.
He's just got to get rid of it more quickly. That's a barrier that many guys fail to overcome when they get to college, but it's time for him to learn it now or for them to give someone else a shot.

We completed most of our passes...how did you come to that conclusion. It's not completions that hurt...It's his inability to find a way when nothing is there. If muschamp wasn't so content trying to make him a pro style qb, he would duck down and run like tebow did when someone wasn't open. Instead, he just sits in the pocket horribly and looks like a retard playing chess.

You're right. I just read the boxscore. 291 yards passing. Frankly, I was shocked. Now, I didn't watch the game intently -- it's not my team, but it seemed like the majority of your completed passes didn't go anywhere. They didn't accomplish anything. No first downs (y'all were 6/15 on 3rd downs).
Kinda seemed like it was much ado about nothing. Good on paper, but not where it counted.

Yeah it's very dink and dunk, they need to get him throwing down-field more like on their last scoring drive, he did a really nice job and was getting rid of it more quickly.

Yeah, I did watch that last drive. He looked solid.
Of course it was prevent defense.
But Driskel might be one of those instinctual QBs, and that's never going to mesh with Muschamps philosophy.

Yeah that's true Miami was playing way back, but still knowing he had to throw it further down-field made him look more focused to me. When any QB holds on to the ball too long, for the most part bad things happen (sack, fumble, poor throw, pass tipped etc.)
I think if they can find a way for him to keep working on a quick release and reading the safeties especially, he can improve, but they need to run a lot of plays for him where he can roll out to throw it, IMO.

He did a good job because he was in shotgun. 247 I can't remember who did it but he is somewhere around 70 percent from shotgun. Our offense wil not improve having him under center. Our coaches have to finally accept this It's getting annoying.

Yeah you mentioned that earlier about the shotgun formation, that's a really good point.

quote:Last year the WRs had a couple of drops in the limited amount of passes we attempted last year. Yesterday it was pretty clear that Driskel missed WIDE open players, overthrew easy passes, and forced the ball in between defenders. So stupid.
ETA: You can't tell me Arkansas State or Washington State's WR are more talented that Floridas with a straight face.
Some of the OLs took plays off yesterday, but it was really Driskel and the Burtons to blame. And the damn penalties the offense loves to rack up on false starts, late hits, QB targeting, holding.
