Football is a simple game. When your offensive line is good your offense is good. HUNH, Pro-I, etc…when your offensive line is good and you have special talents in the backfield (Cam, Marshall, Tre, Ingram, Richardson, McCarron, etc…) you have a chance to play for championships.

I agree. It was fun as shite in 2012 watching players Sabin obviously recruiting to beat LSU out of fricking breath trying (and failing) to stop that second JFF touchdown.

Not many, but I would say that is the way people are trying to get the QB position to go towards.

I would be happy with that. He's much more than "hey the D end sucked in, I'll run it this time."

I will admit I was wrong about Gustav. The man is a brilliant offensive coach.

No coach is going to recruit for this. This style of offense is trying to evolve the qB position into a Cam type. Has to run and pass. If it evolved the QB talent into just a read option threat with no passing, the offense will kill itself.

People thought football was two brilliant minds who would play a game of chess after every snap with the pieces they recruited.

And I understand that. But essentially (I know I am being over simplistic, and I don't mean to be) it is a 2 minute offense used the entire game. Football, for years, was all about pounding the football between the tackles and wearing down the opposition. Malzahn is doing the same thing...only doing it with speed. To me, you have to have a team that is in incredible shape. Gone are the fat boys slogging it away in the trenches. You are still wearing the opposition down...just doing it with players who are actually in shape. He saw what could be done when no one else saw it...or refused to consider it.

Are you suggesting the HUNH is a healthier offensive scheme alternative?

No doubt. No matter the offense you run, you still have to have talent.
