I think Mallett ends up being the best QB out of this draft. His talent coupled with his situation will make him either a groomed replacement for Brady or the next Kolb. Either way smart move by tha Pats.

am I the only guy that thinks Mallett isn't intelligent enough to handle the pro's?

Guy has been around football his entire life, figuring out and learning an offense will not be a problem for Mallett in the NFL.

Seriously. I think the real question is why the hell was Crompton ever drafted and why was he still on a roster?

If Mike Vic can learn an NFL offense, I don't think Mallet will have any probs.....

Crompton was released the minute the Pats drafted Ryan Mallett.

Y'all, Mallett's father is a football coach, Ryan has been around football all his life and knows more about football than probably the whole collective of posters on these message boards.

If he fails in the NFL for some reason, it won't be because he couldn't handle the mental aspect. I believe I read the other day that he has been reading protections and changing calls since the 9th grade or so...

I'm pretty sure a star doesn't receive multiple death threats from his own fans.

Mallet will be a better pro than Newton. Book it.

Why? Because he is starting for a team that doesn't have Tom Brady? Dumb

This^^^^
All BS aside, Mallett has what it takes to make it in the NFL. In fact, he's way more prepared than a lot of QB's entering the NFL. Regardless of how people perceive him, the Patriots are fortunate to have him. He'll be alright as long as he stays healthy and out of trouble.
