Twatter

QB Mac Jones' ranks through Week 12:

QBR - 14th
DYAR - 13th
EPA/Play - 13th
Yards/att - 12th
CPOE - 6th
PFF grade - 7th

Rookie. "Muh dink and dunk."

I'm willing to bet those numbers are going to continue to improve through week 17.

Patriots are #1 in the NFL in PPG since Week 6. Why doesnt every franchise run the same easy stuff for their QB that New England does?

He's a done a fine job being very accurate in New England's short passing system, nothing wrong with that. He's already a top 15 quarterback in the league IMHO.

When I watched the Atlanta game, Matti Ice got 2 throws picked off. Both short and one was a pick 6. Then they brought in Rosen and he strew a 10 yarder and NE got themselves another pick. Then Franks came in at QB and he threw a 5 yard out and NE picked that off as well.

Just amazing to watch all these QBs in the NFL, week after week, get all these "short" passes picked off. How weird, it's like it actually takes talent to throw all these short and intermediate passes on time and in rhythm.

Look, I like Mac Jones. He is a great example and a powerful recruiting story for Alabama… sat on bench four years…perennial back/up, third string who stayed with the process and won Heisman and got rich.

Good for him…but he doesn’t play for Alabama anymore so why not let it go?

The dink and dunk works as long as you are ahead. Thank the Pats D for that. It results in high percentage completion rates, few Interceptions and few TD throws. The opposing Ds allow it. The problem comes when you get behind and can not throw down field. Four or Five passes completed for over 25 yards proves this will be an issue once the Pats play a decent team that can score on the Pats D. Mr Dink and Dunk will have that stat trophy you so desire.

So he's slightly above average even with the NFL's best defense carrying his crying/game managing arse?

Yeah, once they quit starting games with a 2 TD lead, it'll all come crashing down.

If you had a working knowledge of football it would occur that dinking and dunking is what QBs do when they have no place to go with the ball and they are just trying to get something out of the play.

What the Mac Attack is known for is sending the ball on time and throwing receivers open, kinda like the 5 TDs and 450 plus yards put on the Barner's head last season.

No, the D keeps them in the games. That and playing one of the easiest schedules in the NFL. Like I said dink and dunk are something that opposing Ds will allow. The problem is the Pats D doesn't allow Jones to have to win a game.
