I feel like Lunardi is off on several fronts this year. I just don’t see how Auburn will get that high with what will be 3 Q1 wins if they win tomorrow. 1’s, 2’s and 3’s are pretty locked in my mind.

1’s in order- Houston, Purdue, UCONN, UNC

2’s in order- Tennessee, Iowa St, Arizona, Marquette

3’s in order- Creighton, Baylor, Illinois, Duke

If Illinois loses to Nebraska I could see them as a 4 but other than that, it’s pretty set.

but Auburn is undefeated against Q2, 3, and 4. Auburn is also very highly ranked with the metrics........4th on KenPom and 5th in NET.

Agree our lack of Q1 wins probably keeps us on the 4-line. However, the last 3-seed probably comes down to these three:

Quad 1 records:
Kentucky: 6-7
Duke: 5-4
Auburn: 2-7

Quad 1+2 records:
Auburn: 12-7
Duke: 11-8
Kentucky: 8-8

Quad 1+2+3 records:
Auburn: 21-7
Duke: 18-8
Kentucky: 16-9

I feel like Kentucky’s .500 record against Quad 1+2 is just as much of an asterisk as Auburn’s lack of Q1 wins…. Not to mention a Q3 loss to go along with that.

SOR:
12- Auburn
16- Duke
19- Kentucky

NET:
5- Auburn
10- Duke
19- Kentucky

I mean…. Auburn is really way ahead of those other two in every meaningful metric accept Q1 wins. Will be interesting to see what the committee focuses on.

I want us to play Houston early just so we can exit and end this infuriating season.

Deja vu statement every March on here. Get well, Kentucky.

Also. I know RPI is an outdated, unused metric now by the committee. But right now RPI looks like this:

9- Auburn
33- Duke
42- Kentucky

I know the committee no longer uses RPI, but going back to the days when it was the major benchmark, teams with RPI’s in the 40s just never got 3-seeds.

Wonder if the committee looks like games like ours vs USCe as anything worth mentioning. Two 30+ point wins against a AP top 25 team that count as Q2. I don't know why I'm so hung up on that haha

I don’t know what Duke did to inflate their numbers in all the metrics because they are not good and haven’t beaten anyone good in months

If we beat FLA, we're a 3.

Yeah the SEC is stout this year. It would kind of be an insult to the conference if the team with the best record, highest NET, highest KenPom, etc won the conference tourny and only got a 4 seed.

We're the only team in the country ranked in the top 10 in offensive and defensive efficiency. Plus we won 25 games by more than 10 points. Nobody else is even close to that number. And our average margin of victory is something like 18 points. That's why the computers love us.

One of the phoniest narratives of the entire season. I've seen hundreds of court storming in my life and nobody has gone to the hospital, but every time somebody storms the court against Duke its like the Battle of Normandy. He was so hurt, he played the entire game against Louisville in Cameron.

Yeah. Also a loss to Arkansas should be disqualifying for a Top 3 seed.

Typical Duke and the Grayson Allen types they attract.

pompous, mendacious, insufferably smarmy program.
