its frickin pathetic..if there's one thing LSU does best, its appeasing to advertisements. go look at other big time programs and their stadiums, they don't have nearly the amount of ad space making it look like fricking Tin Cup's shirt in the open.

Look at professional stadiums. The LSU AD is no different. LSU is in the business of generating a profit, they're not looking for handouts like every other AD in the country.

They've moved the 'Tiger Head' and 3 NC year signs to elswehere in the stadium, as well as the awesome "Welcome to Death Valley" marquee over the new SEZ.
They have also drastically increased the actual screen space on the NEZ Video Screen.
The Coke sign is the last thing I'll be looking at.

I'm sure bama gets just as much money from sponsors, do you see their stadium looking like the ads section of the newspaper?

Maybe not, but I get tired of seeing advertisements constantly stream across the ribbon boards in the stadiums instead of up to date, useful information. On the occasions when they do actually flash scores from other games, sometimes those scores haven't been updated in an hour or more. More frequent game stats would also be nice. I love Van Tiffin to death, but I really don't need to see 40 ads for Tiffin Motorhomes every game.

Where? The top of the northern video board is one of the most prominent locations in the entire stadium.

Images from the south end zone from earlier today don't display the "National Champions" lettering anywhere.

Are they just going to hide those under a roofed portion of the west side expansion where no one can see them?

i'd much rather have the ads on the ribbon board instead of the alternative. if you've ever been to tiger stadium you can relate to how i feel. but, thats the world we live in, everything for a dollar

"Fans will also notice the North end zone replay board will look bigger but in reality will not change. It will no long display advertising on either end, opening up the entire board for viewing replays.

Seems like it will be the only ad

LINK

"We met with the sports properties group and talked to corporate sponsors who have ben extremely receptive and understanding to wat the fans want," senior associate athletic director Eddie Nunez said. Fans will see a bigger video picture, a complete HD picture all the way around so we won't have different ratios.""

sammy i think you're missing my point.

its not the actual sign, its the placement. they did away with the national champions and years, located in the most prominent area in the entire stadium with an ad. they couldn't have found another area to put it?

I think you are forgetting one of your biggest complaints was all the ads.

This is less ads more screen. Coke paid for it. Thats why its on the scoreboard Its where it is on the scoreboard because the rest in now screen.

do they have a scoreboard that size?

No. And our ribbon scoreboards at each end of the field absolutely suck.

I may trash Neyland Stadium a lot, but one thing I will give it credit for is that the ribbon scoreboards are infinitely better than ours. I'm not talking about the jumbotron. Look at this clip at the :25 second mark and you'll see what I'm talking about. Big bold letters and numerals. Down and distance together, TOL in another place, both teams' scores one above the other. The info you want to see at a quick glance jumps out at you. Compare it to ours in this clip at the :40 mark. Tiny letters, skinny numbers, information spread out. You almost have to search for info. We may be used to it, but I wonder sometimes if first time visitors take one look at it and wonder WTF?

Why is a non-profit organization in the business of making a profit?

In the pros where profit is the aim, you sell out. Colleges shouldn't sell out.
