LSU is fifth in the conference in yards per play. Last year LSU finished 9th.

quote:

1 Georgia
2 Mississippi
3 Arkansas
4 Mississippi State
5 LSU
6 Texas A&M
7 Florida
8 Alabama
9 Kentucky
10 South Carolina
11 Tennessee
12 Auburn
13 Vanderbilt
14 Missouri

LSU is finally getting the offensive production it needs to round out its team. If these trends hold or improve, LSU is going to be a strong contender for the conference crown. LSU might run the ball a lot (understatement), but they are very explosive, almost 6.8 yards a play.

The defense has, predictably, taken a step back. The hope is that LSU having a top half offense will offset their defense only being top 3 or so.

LSU's offense is getting better due to LF. But 4th and Steele could be an issue.

Not a single one of your fans predicted what the rest of the entire conference told you... LF7 can carry the team on his back though so its okay.

What makes LSU scary is the other teams know that Fournette is getting the ball. They load the box and Fournette still goes off. I understand that Cuse, Moo U and Auburn are not world beaters, but these are not FCS schools. If Harris can put it all together before November, LSU will win the SEC. If not, it will still be a good season but we probably lose 2.

I think a lot of folks are gonna disagree

You haven't really played a defense with a pulse yet, needed special teams to bail you out against Syracuse, etc. Your numbers seem a little inflated on those basis.

But LF is good for 150-200 against an nfl defense so he is going to get his. But at some point I think most will agree you are going to have to show you have more than just one superstar.

I'm not sure if I agree with the D taking a step back. We are generating alot more pressure on the QB. We are on pace to obliterate our sack total from last year. We also have one of our staring corners out. We have given up alot of yards in the 4th, however that's from running prevent to stop a long TD bomb late.

I'm more worried about Peveto on 4th down than Steele.

We finished first in yards. It was unlikely we would do that again. Get outta here with the dumb generalizations.

Stats against Auburn's defense should not qualify.

That average is propped up by Fournette's long runs. When I was watching the Syracuse game your QB was like 4 of 20 and those completed passes were easy, safe ones.

I don't see that your offense is any better. Fournette is the one that is better--at least against lousy defenses.

Regardless if we are playing tough defenses or not LF is running for over 200 yards a game and rarely gets taken down 1 or the first guy who hits him.

Please be in the threads started by your Aggy brothers about the defense. Syracuse has a higher rates defense than Aggy, so remind them that Aggy has no pulse. Thanks.
