As for CPM being afraid to "risk losing road games": check out what LSU did at USCe, Fla, and O.Miss this yr. I am sure he's scared to death bout going on the road. I have no idea what the per game revenue is for a home game at the Box. But I do feel safe in saying for LSU to go play anyone anywhere on the road, it would result in LSU losing money, travel expenses, etc. So, in addition to losing a home per game amount, it would also result in losing money on the road game itself. Any business major can tell you that is not the receipe for any business being in the black at the end of the yr. And LSU baseball, basketball, and football is a business. You mention Fla as being one of the teams that does it right, i.e., it goes on the road. Have you seen their baseball stadium? It's barely a step above a good highschool stadium. LSU doesn't have Mr. Wal Mart giving us millions. We need to produce our income.And, btw, LSU is one of the few schools in the country whose athletic dept. as a whole is in the black.

Yes. They also don't count actual turnstile data IIRC. I remember something about counting actual live attendance and adding in the season ticket holders on top.

now that the seasons are over both lsu and arkansas have paid and actual attendance listed for each game. im not about to go and add each up though. but someone posted a link towards the end of the season showing actual for the season, and average for the season. lsu led both.

Syracuse in basketball hasn't played a non-conference or tournament game outside of new York in 20 years or something crazy like that. It seems to me if LSU was going to need to get more people in the stands for the attendance that they would play fewer home games. When you play that many at home it is easier for people to skip one her or there because there are so many. If there were fewer maybe the actual attendance would be even higher.

Actual attendance doesn't matter as much as paid to LSU
Except for important games.....LSU fans show up for important games.
LSU is the measuring stick for College Baseball and it's a position that has been earned.

I know you are just flaming, but to anybody who thinks this is serious, the answer is we can do whatever the frick we want with our schedule. We are LSU, we have won 6 NCAA Championships in 21 years (including one 3 years ago), we don't have to prove shite to you or anybody during the OCC season. Don't you think if it was that important we would play more OCC games to get ready for the SEC schedule, which is full of the toughest teams in the toughest conference in the SEC?
I actually wish we did play a couple more OCC games against tougher teams because I do think it may help us be a bit more get ready for SEC play, but the SEC part of the schedule always more than prepares you for the postseason as the past 2 decades we have proven case in point.

Arkansas fans are so stupid. So so so so so fricking stupid. Never win SEC championships in any sport, and when they go to Omaha or go to a big bowl game once every several years, they try to brag into other peoples faces like the accomplished something. Their penis envy is pathetic.
