It's probably because these teams that come in and play LSU make more money by coming to baton rouge than they would by hosting LSU.

I'm pretty sure there's a mandated number of home games LSU must play with the new stadium for it to pay for itself or something like that.
Also, if there are actually 10K people in the box 10 times in the regular season I'd be relatively surprised. I don't know what any other schools do as far as counting.
The CSF series was awesome, and I'd love LSU to have more interesting and fun OOC series.

LSU home games make lots of money. LSU likes money. What about this concept is perplexing to you? Do you honestly think Arkansas isn't allowed to schedule as many home games as we do or something? I think LSU usually has 7-8 home games in football and PAC12 schools usually have around 6. It's not because we are the only ones allowed. its because we stack paper when we have home games and money is what makes the world go round.
MONEY IS THE REASON... MONEY!!
MONEY IS THE REASON... MONEY!!

LSU had quite a few blasts vs Arky in 2009 CWS!

Look at how many home games LSU plays compared to the rest of the SEC
{Yawn} Altogether now...Alex Box Stadium is bigger than most SEC stadiums...teams want to play at ABS because they make more money playing LSU on the road than if they hosted LSU on the road.
It's not rocket science.

The OP does know LSU averages 3k more fans per game.... right?

LSU fans refusing to stay on subject. Typical. I know it's hard, but gather your thoughts collectively and try to reason out why you have to schedule so many home games. Not enough training camp time? Don't want to schedule OOC away games? I'm dying to hear the answer. Though I doubt I'll get a comprehensible one.
Because the subject is stupid. It is a total strawman. LSU schedules more home games because they can,not because there is some stupid mission to out draw Arkansas or anyone else. No one cares about a attendance national championship. (Correction: apparently some Arkansas fans care enough to make up lame theories.)
LSU draws thousands to crappy midweek games. And that's butts in the seats, they sell even more than that in tickets. If Arkansas was selling thousands of tickets (season and individual) for a Wens night game against Middle of Nowhere State, they would do the same thing.
But no one in college baseball can sell college baseball like LSU can. And that is why LSU leads the nation in attendance.

This arguement is stupid anyway. Of the seasons the OP listed only one season LSU averaged less than Arkansas. And in 2011, Ole Miss was second in attendance, not Arky.

marking the 17th straight season in which the Tigers have led the nation in total attendance.

why on earth would any program not have as many homegames as possible?

Why does LSU get to schedule so many home games on a yearly basis?
quote:No, but money does. Why would we pay to fly our team, coaches and support staff to California or Nebraska or wherever when we can get them to come to Baton Rouge and let us keep the revenue?
Does the attendance figure mean THAT much to LSU?

I talked to an LSU friend of mine a while back and he said that they schedule a lot of home games because the Tigers play so poorly on the road. I didn't believe him at first, then I remembered that we swept them at our place and they didn't really put up a fight. So maybe he is right?
