you want to know what the LSU pass defense stats look like for the past 10 years?

they aren't great by any means. "DBU" was started before raymond got to LSU. he recruited some great players but LSU has absolutely not been elite in pass defense for a while.

I think Kelly realized he could come to LSU, lose to Saban 3 times and get paid way more in getting fired than Notre Dame was ever going to pay him.

The money is by far the most obvious angle here, and no one should fault a guy for jumping at generational money in the twilight of his career. Notre Dame is frankly stupid for trying to run a major football program on the cheap.

That being said, the hopelessly naïve projections on the part of many of Tiger Rant's finest has been rather odd to watch. Kelley has all sorts of drawbacks and seems like a real d#$k of a person in general. He is inheriting a crumbling roster and has short time to patch it up. He has never shown the ability to win big games. I can't see the Tiger fan base being happy with him putting on the same performance in BR as he did in South Bend.

What do either of those teams have to do with LSU? Both teams just hired guys that have never been a head coach. This is Kelly's 5th job and he's proven that he can build and sustain a winning program at all 4 of his other jobs. This isn't even a good troll.

A&M is so obsessed with LSU, you know who our DB coach is.

I don't even know who A&M's DB coach is, nor do I care.

The only reason we know who CR is is because of LSU fans beating their chest about the best assistant in the country. And after a new coaching hire, he leaves to go to a school y'all play every year.

Some shite went down

Just because ND made their HC hire in about a week and hired someone they didn't want to lose to LSU.... doesn't mean much at this point.

folks are saying he wanted the AHC/recruiting coordinator role that Frank Wilson was hired for Tuesday.

He wanted to get paid like Brad Davis and Frank Wilson. Florida offered that and LSU didn't. Bad move by LSU IMO.

This isn't a troll. This is pointing out clear red flags that LSU fans are choosing to ignore.

Agree.

Odd they didn't pay the man, can't blame him for leaving.

What red flags? You're comparing two schools with first time coaches to a school that won championships with morons and now has a proven winner. It doesn't even make any sense.

Your supposed "red flags" are Kelly not bringing any assistants and Raymond leaving.

Raymond left for more money and the other statement is false.

You could have put the period after happy. But just remember who he is replacing.

After being at LSU for 10 years we know Raymond most likely wanted the associate head coach position. Why would he not? Once Frank got it I’m sure he was not too pleased. It really really sucks losing Raymond, but right now I would prefer to have Frank. Polian will be great for recruiting too, Brad Davis as well. And I’m sure we will hear about several more. It’s going to be a mix of BK guys and guys w/ LA ties. I think that’s the best approach for BK to have. And I’ll say one last thing, I’m not upset about anyone wanting to jump ship from a squad that just went 8-10 in the SEC the last two seasons. That is inexcusable for LSU.

Meaning of rationalization

Paying 80 million dollars to a coach that loses to a shrimp boat captain one that did not plan for or even care about the game. Evaluating those results and coming to the conclusion that the next recruiting class coming in is the one that he really needs!
