Just exactly.. how many games do you think it will be before Lsu's defense doesn't suck?
How many games did it take Saban to implement his D? I sure don't remember bama having a shut down D back in 2007. It will be a work in progress all season but hopefully the offense can keep scoring more points than we give up. Our D gave up a ton of yards but the bottom line is they only gave up 16 points when it mattered. (7 were in garbage time and aided by a BS roughing the passer call). We have playmakers on D that will cause turnovers and negative plays but we have not geled as a solid unit. The good news is we don't face a high powered offense until UF on Oct. 10 so we have 4 more games to get better. And the other good news is we have the firepower on offense to hang with just about anybody even if our D gives up some points. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. It's a long season.
I watched much of the LSU @ Washington game and then watched some of the replay too. The Washington team I saw looked significantly better than they did last year. They've got good athletes and were well coached. If they play like they did against LSU, I think they'll win quite a few games this season. It was also a season opener on the road all the way across the country. Concluding that LSU still has major problems on D, based solely on that one game is unwarranted, IMO.

But Washington is a contender this season!
I think Washington might be a bowl team this year.
I'd almost take Jake Locker over Jevan Snead.

That comes down to us not being able to stop 3rd down and Chavis.
Our defense could not get off the field.

bottom line bama will not win sec or ncg this year so what does any of this matter....
Posted on 9/7/09 at 12:47 pm to Alahunter
A lackluster performance to say the least.Either the Husky's are a much improved team or LSU has alot of work to do.IMO Its a little of both. The Vandy game should provide a decent test for the Tigers.Personally I don't think the staff expected Wash.to put up that much of a fight. They had better be prepared for the Dores'.

you looking for someone to validate your statement and make you feel like others agree? you trying to convince us of this? or yourself?

Since you want to try bash LSU after one game, according to those stats UT, MSU and Vanderbilt could be considered the best teams in the conference. Would you agree with that?

I simply posted stats. I never said anything negative in the original post. If you will take the time to look objectively, I was attacked by Lsu posters before any hawing back and forth got going. This is simply a case of kill the messenger here.
