I guess my point was that Malone wouldn't be on the team at any of those schools
I should have just said "and they'd have depth down low"

We certainly have talent. Johnny Jones is just hilariously bad at utilizing it

Simmons decided foolishly not to play at Kentucky, and while hell still get drafted high, he's really wasting a year in Baton Rouge. Jones isn't doing anything to improve him or prep him for the NBA.

Yet he still beat UK by 18.
Ben would thrive in Duke's system.

I thought this was about football.

And Calipari would?

I don't know why we don't play Epps more. I realize he does not have the weight but he has the size at 6'9 and is very athletic. I don't understand his lack of playing time. Robinson and Malone are God awful and should not even be on this team, in fact no team at this level. Tells you the lack of depth we have with bigs when either see the court.

I don't think it's just coaching. LSU is just like most SEC teams in that they can win any game or lose any game. It depends on how things fall. Even Dale Browns teams were that way. Beat top ranked UK one day and then would lose to a nobody.
Its life in the SEC. Never assume you win this one and never assume you lose this one. A lot of the SEC teams are a little over-hyped this year. Namely LSU and UK. Some are under-hyped namely Auburn and USCe. When USCe was 15-0 I think they were still only ranked like 16th or 19th??
LSU could make the Final Four or could get bounced in the first round of the SEC tourney. Same with a few SEC teams.
Only A&M looks to be legit in this league. I can see them winning the SEC and winning it comfortably.

and that's with one of the most skilled passing big men college basketball has seen since maybe Bill Walton
Ever heard of one Earvin "Magic" Johnson, a big man who was so skilled at passing that guess what? He played point guard. Check him out, you will be amazed! Hint, some compare Simmons to that Magic Johnson guy.

Sadly, it's LSU's downfall in most major sports. Coaching! All the talent in the world will never be truly great without good coaching.
