I did not understand Jones' lineup decisions in the second half. At all. He didn't put that team in a position to succeed at all.

He also appears to suffer from the same inability to scheme against the zone as our coach has.

You can see the crazy talent and athleticism but they play like headless chickens.

Well, to be fair, we have nobody behind victor and Simmons in the front court. Once victor picked up his fourth foul with 16 minutes or whatever it was to go the game was over.

Watching a Johnny Jones offense try to attack a zone defense is like watching a monkey try to frick a football.

LSU fans don't appreciate Miles, but they are dead arse right about Jones. This should be a lock sweet 16 team.

It was like looking in a mirror of what Aggie basketball has been under Kennedy until this year (and even this year's early success is due more to bringing in a glut of talent than anything BK is doing).

Honestly I didn't expect a win tonight, but it's the way the 2nd half went down. ATM grinded (sorry State) LSU and LSU played uninspired that 2nd half. That's on the coach.

Not once, or ever, does he call a timeout to take a breath and try to come up with a better game plan. Simmons has had very slow starts lately and JJ can't design ways to make him the focal point.

You put that Davis kid on LSU's team and LSU is a favorite to win the tournament even with JJs terrible coaching. He is really really good and exactly what LSU needs.

I agree Jones is a mediocre coach, but the simple fact I this roster ha zero depth inside. There is Simmons and Victor an Simmons is really a 3 if you want to maximize his impact. There is nothing behind Victor. Nothing. It's a damn shame. And when Victor goes full retard with his fouling this team cannot hang.

You don't get the full picture of how bad Malone and Robinson from their terrible performances tonight. You have to watch them be that ineffective every game they play in for the past two years to fully appreciate how bad our inside depth is. It's pathetic and it harkens our death knell.

Jones did a great job of taking LSU out of complete obscurity his first three seasons, but I'm in disbelief how he's mismanaged this entire season throughout. His biggest frick up is not finding competent post play, other than Victor falling into his lap.

Welcome to our nightmare.

He is what you call a bargain bin hire that fell upwards because he's an "LSU man"

Absolutely.

And Cal or K would make him play hard.

It's not that LSU lost tonight. We all expected that, even a double-digit loss. It's just how we lose. aTm played average tonight, I'd say. There was a stretch in the second half where their offense was god awful. But we're not good enough nor do we play hard enough to take advantage of times like that.

They'd also teach him how to shoot

And they wouldn't play malone

Or leave Victor in with 3 fouls

Or only get Hornsby 7 looks

Or let Simmons play high low ball with terrible backup centers

Or let Blakeney keep shooting

Or let Quarterman dribble around the baseline and corner for 30 seconds

Etc

meh

I don't understand this complaint. Either Malone or Robinson has to play, and I'd rather it be Malone.

We have a lack of post depth, and the ones we do have are foul prone. He has to play.

When Quarterman isn't playing like arse, it allows us to be more versatile with our rotations because of his size/length. But unfortunately, Quarterman is playing like arse the vast majority of the time.
