I'm just glad we looked good enough to beat Georgia Southern last night.

Melvin Gordon tweaked his hammy on that 60yard run to open the 2nd half... which is the reason he barely played after that. But still... mistake for that coach to start throwing it liek they did. He saw some life from LSU and started to freak out. Should have just ran the ball with Clement more than he did and not throw it as much.

Actually, conflicting reports. Gordon said he was fine and not hurt... But did look like he came up lame on that run. But said he's fine. Another rumor is that he and his position coach got into an argument because Clement went in for a few series and Gordon got pissed.

quote:

“I was good, man,” Gordon said when asked about the lack of playing time. “I was all good. “They went with Corey… I’m a little sore. Obviously you get hit…but I’m A-OK.” Corey Clement, who had one carry for 4 yards in the first half, carried 14 times for 41 yards and a touchdown after halftime. “Just coach’s choice,” Clement said when asked why he played more than Gordon in the second half. “Melvin is perfectly fine. Melvin has his time and I have my time. I just try to make the most of my opportunities.” Senior right tackle Rob Havenstein was asked if he wondered why Gordon spent so much time idling on the sideline in the second half. “That’s not my call,” Havenstein said. “I’m not the offensive coordinator. If I was I’d be making a whole lot more money.

Really odd...

Wow, I didn't know that, so the injury bug essentially favored LSU in that game. Injuries are a part of the game, but Wisconsin got hit hard for a young team.

It wasn't pretty, but a win is a win. I'll take it against a top 15 opponent. Now on to the cupcakes for the next 2 games.

LSU had more offense than FL has had the past several years. You people are such dimwits judging by a first game. If you watched many of the top teams in the top 10 they ALL struggled!!!! And all of this if I, would I, should of means nothing in football!!!!!

ah, your opinion will be duty noted, processed and filed appropriately.

I think your teams performance last year has got you down and possibly damaged. I know you fell better about yourself after this prognostication and that's what counts.

Those players got injured because they were being hammered. He may not have racked up on yards early but Hilliard was lowering the boom. Wisconsin came out and played above their heads for a half but blew their wad early. As they got slower and weaker we got faster and stronger. It was evident in the 4th quarter that their team was spent!

Both teams had dropped balls and field goals that could have been touchdowns. Alabama dominated the second half of the game. One key difference between our teams' games was that Alabama never trailed after tying the game midway through the 1st quarter.

LSU looked bad for 3 quarters.

They did but then they rallied for a big comeback win. Our whole team showed poise and never panicked. I like what I saw from this young team last night. They will continue to get better.

Really odd... Injured or not, something happened which put Gordon on the bench. And if not, then that coach is dumb.
