You didn't watch that game, I take it? It was just a TD difference until under a minute to go in the game. That's not "comfortable." That's "taking it to the wire and finally allowing yourself to breathe a sigh of relief with only 40 seconds to go." They won by a two TD margin, but they didn't coast to it. Scoring was back and forth for most of the game. It was a struggle for both sides and ultimately OU proved to be the better team.

I love my Tigers and I know we have improved a ton but I dot see us being comfortable in this game. We can win but we had to play a great game to do it

I disagree. LSU doesn't really have the tools necessary to beat Bama. Running the football is not a realistic option.

To beat Bama you have to have good pass protection to hold up against the rush or a dual threat QB that can extend plays and scramble for 3rd down conversions. You really need WRs who can stretch the field vertically and a QB with the arm to get it to them. It will be extremely hard for them to come by points.

You also have to have good interior penetration from DTs to stop the run. LSU is average at best at those spots.

We all have annoying fans. I can't tell you how many times i have explained why Bama can't beat an nfl team, for example. I remember a time when some Bammers were convinced that the refs had it out for Bama. It isn't just LSU. It's just that there are more LSU posters and therefore more of those kinds of fans posting those kind of things on this board.

If Etling plays well, they don't need a dual-threat. They have two very good RBs and Bama has struggled in the secondary (relatively speaking, I mean, for a top-ranked team.) Bama's strengths do play well against LSU's strengths, but that just means that an unexpectedly good performance from Etling would have a disproportionate effect on the game.

I'm not predicting an LSU win. Bama is clearly going to be favored as the undefeated #1 team in the nation. They're likely to make tough on LSU's o-line and less-than-mobile QB. If they do, containing LF will be much simpler. But LSU isn't a cupcake, and will be playing in DV (presumably at night.) A great passing performance will definitely stand a good chance of keeping them in the game long enough to pull off the upset.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I watch a lot of college football and Bama is simply the best team in the nation this year. Are they unbeatable? No. Can LSU beat them? Yes. But it will take one hell of an effort, and if it happens it won't be comfortably by any means. I hope for a win but I'm not expecting it, you guys are just too good right now
