I will be driving to the game and have never been to a game in Columbia. Any rec's on decent places to stay that will be close to bars? Stadium?

The options near the stadium are not existent. How old are you? Reason I ask is there are basically two bar areas. One for 21 and under, one for 21 and older. If the latter, you will want to stay in The Vista area. It's about 2-3 mile walk to the stadium from there but a quick and cheap cab ride. I would start your search at the Hampton Inn Downtown on Gervais Street and look anywhere around that area.

This is a very good link to hotels in the downtown area. It's a site maintained by SC tourism so it's not an expedia-type site. You'll get an impartial view of what's available and what each have to offer as well as the distance to Williams-Brice. Hope it helps.

Hotel info

ETA: Even though these hotels average only 3 1/2 miles from the stadium, give yourself A LOT of time to get there. The traffic into the stadium area is notorious for getting backed up and at a stand still for a long time.

If you're an OT baller you can rent out a luxury condo for the weekend next door to the stadium

Oh yeah, Jack..those are niiiiiice but the $ is outrageous!!! Can't get closer to the stadium than those condos, though. You're talking about the ones across the street from the stadium, right? He'd have to be an OT baller fo' sho'.

Hampton Inn or the Hilton in the Vista if it isn't already sold out.

If all else fails, try AirBnB

We are all in the "older" grouping so I will look into those areas. Thanks for the info.
