So wait,

This thread made it to the second page, without anyone pointing out the fact that this is like tenth thread this week on this EXACT topic... and probably what?... like the 100th time this season?

For the love of all things college football, let the dead horse be eaten by maggots. The game is in just over 48 hours (just over two days if you can't count into the dbl digits)

I think it is pretty OK for people to have the conversation again. Sorry if you disagree. Don't post in the thread if you don't like it.

I understand what you are saying, but how is any of this a conversation. Its Bama fans saying here I fixed it for you Bama >>>>> LSU, and its LSU fans trying to point out something... anything that can be perceived as an advantage. These threads turn into the same thing everytime. Its not a real conversation.

I didn't flame, and can post where I wish. All I did was point out that the game is going to be played here shortly. This thread 3 weeks ago is one thing, but we are finally here people. The moment we have all been waiting for. That is all I'm saying.

bama's DBs are way better because you play so many guys

lsu's RBs are not any better than Bama's because LSU plays so many guys

His stats, though, are largely inflated because teams dedicate 8 and 9 to the running gam

Teams do the same thing against LSU. Why aren't Mett's stats impressive?

quote:

There are 4 teams in this conference capable of shutting down your run without dedicating 8 and 9. You haven't played one of those teams yet.

We'll see if there is even one this Saturday. LSU is very, very good. To say there are 4 teams (I assume UGA, UF, LSU, and SC) is a stretch. UGA ran on UF and their o-line isn't as good as Bama's. LSU ran on SC and your o-line isn't as good as Bama's.

I think LSU is the only team capable of stopping the run with 7 in the box, but we'll find out in 2 days if they actually do it.

You can't only look at stats. That's simply retarded and something a gump would do.
Look at run defenses the 2 teams have played.
LSU has played 2 of the top run defenses in the country ( UF, USCe)
Bama hasn't played nobody near the run defenses as the 2 I just mentioned. Also bama has a better passing attack then LSU. Teams load the box with 9 defenders to stop the run because they know LSUs passing attack is garbage.

I'd say 'Bama has bigger LBs that are better at stuffing the run.

I'd say LSUs are solid, but a bit smaller/faster and can cover the field from side to side better.

Both units are good, but do different things well. Hard to truly compare them imo.

good one...

Speaking of retarded....

For the record, I think they are fairly even in the rushing department. I posted the stats to add to the conversation.

He's doing it versus bottom tier SEC competition thus far. Two of his passes during the UT game to Cooper were severely under thrown. One was a popup that would have been picked, but UT had to put 8 in the box to slow down the run.
Just no.

McCarron to Cooper 2nd TD; not underthrown with UT players on him

McCarron to Cooper long pass; UT player all over Coop

McCarron to Cooper 1st TD; was wide open and slightly underthrown

McCarron to Bell; TD pass against UT

McCarron pass to Cooper against Arkansas

McCarron to Bell TD against Miss State; right over the shoulder

McCarron to White before he was injured

Why are so many LSU fan incapable of saying A.J. McCarron is a great QB. He has a 18-0 TD-INT ratio for Christ's sake. He leads the nation in passing efficiency. And he's doing it in the SEC.

If LSU had a QB like AJ he'd have 5 nicknames and be worshiped as a deity.
