All of this is what I imagined. Even though Alabama has won 6 in a row, the game is some of the most physical and hard hitting I've ever seen. This screenshot here is legendary:

Excluding obviously the actual fans of the teams....what is your opinion of the game? The atmosphere? Is it something you enjoy to watch every November?

UGA-FL, UGA-AU are both more physical and hard hitting, and thuggier, than LSU-Bama.

False. LSU has beaten Alabama twice in that time frame, same as Ole Miss and Auburn Assuming you're referring to 08-present, since our "good run" didn't start with a 7-6 record in '07[quote]

'False.' LSU has beaten Saban 3 times since he became head coach: 2007, 2010, and 2011.
The 2008, 2012, and 2014 games were decided either in OT or in the final seconds.
The 2009 and 2016 games were competitive well into the 4th quarter.
Even the 2013 and 2015 games were tied at halftime and at end of 3rd quarter, respectively.

Name ONE other team that has played Saban 11 times, won 3, came excruciatingly close in 3 others and only been outclassed TWICE in those 11 games ??

You got part of that right.

LOL

The last part is right. Alabama and LSU generally beat the shite out of eachother but there normally isn't much thuggery going on.

It is only a rivalry with LSU fans. A way distant 3rd (behind AU and the Hillbillies) in the eyes of Bama fans.

This is rather clear to all so no need to spend much more time correcting the Dawg fan. But it gives me an idea: I would love to see a collection of GIFs of hardest hits in this series in the Saban-Miles era. So many come to mind right now. I have no desire to track those down, but that would be an epic thread...

Alabama average margin of victory since 2008:
LSU 8.44
Auburn 17.25
Ole Miss 14.12

Hence LSU plays Alabama tougher than anyone else. BTW, the average margin of victory in Tuscaloosa is only 3.5 ppg.

I also enjoy watching the LSU melt on here every year. They have lost so many times in a row now that i expect them to start building things brick by brick and becoming Life Champions.

Yeah because auburn sure has been kicking Bamas arse recently. The last time was on a fluke play that would never happen again in 100 years.

And even that 8.44 is a misnomer. Only 2 of Bama's wins were decisive, 38-17 in 2013 and 30-15 in 2015.

You could say the 2009 (24-15) and 2016 (10-0) games were decisive also, but at least we were in those games well into the 4th quarter.

Was a good for like 3 or 4 years, but now it's an embarrassing display of LSU fans penis envy, acting like they have a rival or that they're in the same league when they clearly dont and nobody else cares.

and even that's not really true. 2011 and and then the rematch in 2012 were incredible, no one can argue that. But after that? We got 2016 and that's it

I appreciate what it was in 2011 and 2012 but thats pretty much what it was

Respect your opinion, but again, 9 of 11 games against Saban were competitive, with 7 of those 9 coming down to the very end.
NOBODY else can say that. I know you all can't.

I'm not saying we're on the same level as Alabama at the moment.
But who is ???????

I agree that year in and year out the Alabama-LSU game has been the most competitive and even matched of all our games.

It's IMO the classiest rivalry in the SEC right now. It may not be a rivalry to Alabama but as an LSU fan, this 6 game losing streak has been very painful. I really enjoy Tuscaloosa. Very nice people.

The game is very different from other games. It feels like a pro game with so much talent on the field every year. 2013 and 2015 are outliers. Every other game has been extremely hard hitting and close all the way through. Both programs have a tremendous amount of respect for each other and I hope that stays the same. Saban and Les were both very classy when facing each other and I hope Orgeron keeps it the same.

I enjoy the style of play, but LSU isn't as good as they were a few years ago so the game isn't really a must-watch anymore.

Les let 'em get soft in the trenches.

Everybody loves Les, but LSU should've canned him in 2015.

It's my second favorite game of the year after the Iron Bowl. Maybe because it's a rivalry game now? 'Yabe it's because we usually win? I like the fact that all the press/media it attracts. It's usually the biggest game of the week so we get a lot of exposure.

Agree - you could tell in the pregame talk and the actual game how much respect the programs had for the other. I think a lot of it had to do with the styles as well as all those players being recruited by both schools. There is almost never any sort of cheap stuff, both teams play their guys out then they shake hands and go play in the NFL together.

It is a unique game.

quote: Now it's just another division game. It's not a rivalry. Yea, I agree. It's a big divisional game because it's still the greatest collection of future-NFL players on the field in America almost every year (at every level of offense and defense), but it isn't really a rivalry. It was early on because of all the Saban stuff, but now it's just a big game.

This!
