Excluding obviously the actual fans of the teams....what is your opinion of the game? The atmosphere? Is it something you enjoy to watch every November?

I enjoy it for the hard-nosed play and hitting. Reminds me of the AU-LSU games from the Tubbs era at Auburn. You always knew that was gonna be one of the hardest hitting games all year.

I also enjoy watching the LSU melt on here every year. They have lost so many times in a row now that i expect them to start building things brick by brick and becoming Life Champions.

It was fun to watch those couple years when LSU was good.

The Saban effect, 21-0, and the 6 straight years has done enough damage to their psyche that they will now always harbor a special hatred for Alabama. They "hated" auburn when they were good but I could see this develope into an actual "rivalry" along the lines of Georgia/Florida. Behind the iron bowl, TSIO, egg bowl...but even with DSOR and WLOCP in the long run. A good second tier SEC rivalry that will always be most important for LSU fans

Oh yeah, reminds me of the 5 consecutive victories LSU posted against them from 2003-2007, and 8 of the first 9 of the 2000s.
Even though Bama has had a good run since 2007, no team has been more competitive with them in that time period than LSU.
Only the 2013 and 2015 games were not in doubt til the end. Every other game has come down to near the end, esp. 2008, 2012, and 2014. LSU has beaten Saban more than Ole Miss and Auburn in that time.

Saban built LSU off DiNardo's loaded recruits and established his process. Miles coasted for a decade off that process and Coach Orgeron has hired excellent OC DC and supporting staff to re-new the process w/o meddling in the playcalling.

Until LSU can get over the hump of making one mistake to cost them the game, you gotta put Bama in the driver's seat.

False. LSU has beaten Alabama twice in that time frame, same as Ole Miss and Auburn

Assuming you're referring to 08-present, since our "good run" didn't start with a 7-6 record in '07

It was a pseudo-rivalry that developed due to Saban and the fact that both teams were competing for the division for a bit.

Now it's just another division game. It's not a rivalry.

As long as we keep losing to Bama, A&M will keep losing to us. It's a horrible cycle.
:inb4allA&Mallthetime:

I was wondering this question myself. I can't call Bama a rival because we never win anymore, but it was weird seeing a scoreless game for 3.5 quarters last year.

LSU always plays them good early on and then makes some bonehead turnover or penalty that completely stops our momentum

Yea, I agree. It's a big divisional game because it's still the greatest collection of future-NFL players on the field in America almost every year (at every level of offense and defense), but it isn't really a rivalry. It was early on because of all the Saban stuff, but now it's just a big game.

Just the faintest hope of capturing another moment as douche-chilling as this:

Makes it all worthwhile. That pig-eyed, titty twistin' Coach O gonna get it done (someday)

I enjoy the style of play, but LSU isn't as good as they were a few years ago so the game isn't really a must-watch anymore.

Yeah. LSU kind of fired a coach over that.

Not as fun as rivalry games like TSIO, Iron Bowl, WLOCP, or DSOR, but a good hard fought divisional game. Also enjoyable to watch the post game melt.

I enjoy it. Most of the time it's usually a pretty good game as advertised.
