I only bring it up because the updykes of our fanbase mainly populate the Tiger Rant, but that doesn't stop anybody here from using those one on that board as a sample of our fanbase.

If the whiners of the TR represent LSU fans, I don't see why the easily buttmad TideFans people shouldn't represent Bama fans.

Well there you go . I know very few Florida fans and the ones I do know are bandwagoners so I can't really talk football with them. I actually like the Florida series. My first lsu game ever was Florida and I've like it ever since.

Well of course it's filled for a game that doesn't require leaving Gainsville.

I like the UF series and would be pretty upset if it disappeared.

I thought you would agree with me.

I thought this two sentence paragraph nails the whole argument:

quote:

Permanent rivals should be maintained for the sake of history and parity. Florida and LSU should continue to face one another every season.

For history and parity reasons, LSU & UF should play every year.

It's been one of my favorite games every year for awhile now. Obviously the Bama game is more hyped right now, but Florida is always a good game to watch.

LSU fans? stop whining? ain't going to happen....

It is easy to say this when your school is not subjected to the unfair scheduling. Each school would be saying the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot...and you know it.

Should give some credit to ATM fans too along with the UT fans for having some GUMPtion.

ATM got stuck with UCS as their permanent opponent. They have no tradition with USC (hell LSU and UF have played every year since 1971) but are going to have to face the second most decorated coach in the SEC every year (not to mention how long of a road trip that will be).

Gator fans want the LSU game and don't mind playing it every year. At the same time though, there is still a legitimate complaint about the balance of schedules.

This debate should begin and end with that statement, bgator. If Alabama and Florida played every year, there is no question there would be a group of Alabama fans lobbying to get the permanent cross-divisional opponent abolished. I personally like the game, but I see no problem with Coach Miles having an issue going to the swamp every other year, especially when he has Alabama in the same division.

I think you are wrong. I think Bama and UF fans would say: "Can't wait, gonna be a hell of a game." At least that is what they said when they played four years in a row until last year.

That's because Muschamp learned from Saban - it's about the journey (aka the process) not the destination (aka result). Watched pot never boils.

Most LSU fans want the Florida game too.

Of course there is a legitimate complaint about balance, and any reasonable person/fanbase can see that. This naturally excludes Gumps, for obvious reasons.

powerhouse Tennessee every year

Historically Tennessee is a tough opponent. We're not throwing out tradition and rivalries, the very thing that makes college football the greatest sport in the world, because as of right now the team you're playing happens to be good.

I'll bet you a dollar to a doughnut that '14 is also a bridge schedule. SEC league office will not be able to come up with permenant schedule for SEC Network in '14 season.

LSU gets UF, UGA and USC. bama gets UT, KY and whoever has the other worst SEC record in '13.

You know we played UF multiple times in the regular season recently, right? And we played South Carolina in 09 and 10. We played Georgia before that. We shouldn't have to play them every year, we don't have a rivalry with any of them. We do have a SECCG rivalry with Florida.
