LSU, UF, & Vandy, who are you throwing game 1?

Rob has pretty much thrown his #1 for every regional game 1 since he took over at A&M. With the lack of starting pitching and the weak 4 seed (TSU) this year, A&M will be throwing our 2nd best starter, Matt Kent.

It gets brought up every year for every 1 seed, but do you save your ace or do you throw him game one?

Poche pitched last years game 1 with Nola coming in for game 2. But this year our 3rd starter (TBD) will be starting game 1 given the situation, with Lange in game 2 and Poche in game 3.

I'd prefer Faedo to start, but wouldn't be surprised if Shore gets the nod.

I'm not so sure it's going to matter who LSU throws in their regional, but to throw your #3 first is a little too risky for my taste.

LSU isn't throwing either of their top 2 pitchers, I'm sure.

Can you believe Wacha wasn't even our best pitcher his last year at A&M?

Game 1 is still TBD but it won't be Poche or Lange. Probably going to throw about 4-5 different pitchers just like a midweek game.

If you knew anything about LSU's staff its not risky at all. There is also a chance the game could start and then be suspended for rain. And then you would have wasted poche.

He hasnt said but i dont think Bain will start, although he might.

I think it is pretty safe to not start Bain either. We should have a cake walk to the title game and then we can toss poche

Im not crazy about Bain getting 0 work in the regional but id be ok with it.

Sully announced that Shore is pitching game 1. Keeps him on rotation for Super Regional

LSU's best bet to win this regional is to pitch reynolds plus 3 or 4 other pitchers against lehigh who is the worst team in whole bracket. Then have Lange, Poche, and Bain lined up for the rest of the weekend.

Any other tactic would actually reduce lsu's chances of advancing in the regional and is infinitely more risky than not pitching one of them against lehigh.

I agree and doing that it is highly likely Bain wouldn't get any action until a possible game 3 in the supers. I think poche should be able to handle the tulane/uncw 3rd/4th pitcher.
