I could care less about what happened 40 yrs ago. That has nothing to do with the facts that I first posted. You still never answered the question. Was Alabama's football program in a state of utter failure and shittyness when Saban took over??

So, they were like LSU before Saban? Or were you not a fan back then

Basically. Thats a good comparison, Tenn is LSU in the 90's. I have moved on since then and I am concentrating on the present and right now Tenn is a steaming pile.

About time y'all got on DBU's level

4, soon to be 5, first round picks since 2010.

In that time frame, Alabama has been 13th, 1st, 7th, and 11th in National Pass Defense.

LSU has been 10th, 8th, 28th, and 13th in that same time frame.

I think Bama has overtaken LSU.

Actually, for Alabama, it started in 1892.

LSU was Ole Miss before Saban. 50+ years between football NCs. Tennessee has not been down anywhere near that long.
LSU has more conference and national titles over the past half century than Tennessee, if we're using that as a benchmark. Let's not pretend that Tennessee has been consistently great since desegregation.

Alabama was bad, but they had a NC from the 90's to hang their hat on, just like Tennessee. Which is more than anything LSU had accomplished since the 50's. LSU was 50+ years removed from their last title when Saban got there. OM is going on about 50+ years from their last.

It was unfair for me to compare Tennessee to LSU, as they have not been down anywhere near as long. Ole Miss is a much better comparison for LSU.

I remember those days of incessant Bama fans crying in the midst of losing and cheating that Bama was going to take their ball and go independent because the SEC wasn't fair... ...good times.

Uhhhhh, we had FBI agents rolling around our campus following football players. I was at bama during those years and something was seriously corrupt and fricked up.
But it's irrelevant now. We own this shite.

In the Saban era, 14 Bama players have been selected in the first round.

Only 5 can legitimately be labeled as busts.
