Thursday:

LSU - TBA
Ark - Hagen Smith

Friday:

LSU - Luke Holman
Ark - Mason Molina

Saturday

LSU - Gage Jump
Ark - Brady Tygart

Holman and Jump have been our #1 and #2. Thatcher Hurd, who has been horrible on Sunday, has been sent to the pen. Looks like JJ is basically conceding the game against Smith in the hope that we can win Games 2 and 3.

I think it has to do more with keeping the pitchers on their scheduled days

Smart move, also keeps Holman on schedule for Fridays.

If they rain out on Thursday, Holman is still starting on Friday.

Thursday games are so dumb - especially right now. Casual sports fans are watching basketball on Thurs.

Unless DVH is shifting stuff around, you've got Tygart and Molina swapped.

Not going to play on Easter Sunday, and a double header on Saturday probably isn't something you'd plan on in advance?

It doesn't help that Ark played Thurs Fri Sat last week while LSU was playing Fri Sat Sun

DVH swapped them for this weekend.

It's a nice thought, but probably not true. There were three separate time last year in which LSU had a Thurs-Fri-Sat series that followed a Fri-Sat-Sun series, and Skenes started the Thursday game every time. Moving a pitcher up one day isn't really that big of a deal.

No rain in forecast for rest of week. Baum is going to be such a blast. Really wish I could be there this weekend

6 days is plenty of rest for a starting pitcher. Agree with OP. Conceding game one it appears. Bold strategy there Cotton.

Can't say I disagree with the decision. Molina has earned the promotion, though I did kinda like having him in the back pocket for Sunday games.

Several teams had that strategy w Skenes fwiw. Not a terrible idea against the possible #1 overall draft pick this year

I fully expect to get swept with it being in Baum, so even winning a game will be lagniappe. I don't know why Cam Johnson and Aiden Moffett haven't been given bigger roles while Jay continues to trot Little out there to get rocked. I understand they're freshman, but they have upperclassmen stuff.

Rumors in the discord were Tygart needed more rest because of a minor injury but it’s rumors FWIW.
